That was an interesting piece. I don't follow technology much, so a straightforward piece, like that one, is about all I can take at any one read.
A new trend (aside from an ego-based need to “emote” like last week’s chowder being thrown to the hogs) is click-bait. I read a lot (I should say, “I skim a lot”) of stories from various sources. I tried reading a review at National Review about AI this morning. It’s now off the front page and I don’t know where it is. But even though the review was on the grand pages of National Review, it was no better than the sort of “click bate” the has become common. “Click bate,” for all intents and purposes, is content without much substance. Unfocused gibberish dressed up as something more.
So, yeah, when I read an article that says something, is concise, and doesn’t cheat, I like to share it with others. Aten’s was not an in-depth look at the problems of Facebook’s business model, but it was a good overall “keeping up with the news” type of article that had the smell of honesty about it.
After Hammer stopped ranting the managing director said something like, "If that's how you wish to run things, then you've got the wrong man. I resign." Hammer was shocked and backed down. They eventually came to a modus operandi whereby any disagreements the managing director might have with Hammer would only be brought up in private between the two men.
Goodness, what a Snowflake. But then everyone wants to be The Emperor. Or a lot of people do.
Funny thing about all this emphasis on “diversity” is that we’ve simply set up everyone (not just major moguls) to be petty tyrants. Welcome to Amerika.
