Because that "certain number" is usually yuge, that's the case right there against socialism.
Ex-bookkeeper now for the last year or two. She's living down in a town called Winlock. This is why dieting is so hard. We find it very easy to lie to ourselves. We might skip a meal, or have a restrained meal. And floating in the back of our minds then – usually between meals – is, "Oh, I can eat this, this, and this, because I already paid for that."
And thus is the real reason that dieting is so difficult, and not just that food tastes great and is one of the simple and easy pleasures. I think in the case of the bookkeeper, I think it was mostly wounded dove syndrome. And I know some things about her (assuming they are true) which, indeed, makes her a wounded dove legitimately. But I also think it is partly about what you said. It gives her an excuse not to change her behavior.
So what we grapple with (and this is highly instructive) is that there are nearly always mixed motivations. And what the Left does (at least regarding their own law-breaking and degeneracy) is take one small part of the mix (which sounds noble, and may even be noble) and label that as the underpinning for the whole mix.
I cut my balls off to try to become a man not because: A) I'm a hysterical female with no adults restraining me or giving me a sense of perspective; or B) I'm involved in a social fad; C) I'm involved in a religious-like cult; D) I've been so demoralized, abused, and confused by the Leftist doom-and-gloom hate-everyone ideology that I'm sincerely fucked up and looking for a way out); E) I'm a bit mentally ill; F) It's a fast and easy way (initially) to be "special" among my piers; G) It's a way to stick it to my parents for having dared to give birth to me in this awful world.
Instead, what they cherry-pick as a motivation is something all the way on the bottom of the stack: H) I'm exploring my sense of self.
It reminds me of the old joke: Why did you rob the bank? Answer: Because that's where the money is. If a burglar (with a straight face) told you instead that he was trying to "find himself," you'd rightly be skeptical. And so I am about all these "transgender" Weirdos.

Do readers remember the claim made, a couple of years back, that dozens of Indian (Red Skins not Hindus) children had died from misuse and been secretly buried at some Canadian school for Native Americans? As it normally the case with such claims, it has turned out to be a lie. Bad medicine |

That's a fairly overt payoff scheme. People should be aware that the "news" isn't really the news. The AP was going south a good 40 years ago. Of course, now it's worse. But their "news" service had been corrupted a long time ago. Now it seems they've found a way to make it pay better.

It still is, but is much smaller than what you remember. I recall some years back that parts of it was sold off. I rarely hear anything from or about it.
It was as bad, or worse, during the KFF fraud. The government was paying for TV time and articles pushing the disease and illegal-experimental-gene-therapy jab.
After reading the piece, you will also note that "Foundations" are big funders. I believe a complete overhaul of the laws covering "charitable institutions" needs to be begun. It is well know that places like the Rockefeller are financing political change in this country and around the world. Many see the Rockefeller Foundation as the fount of the present "Climate Change" fraud. This covers the attempt to reduce world population and consumption of raw materials, i.e. the desire to make us all serfs once again.

People were "shocked, I say shocked" when Elon Musk yesterday told advertisers to "go fuck themselves." Electric Elon I love it. Most people don't have the balls to do this, even those who have almost as much "fuck you" money as Elon. Glenn Greenwald understands and points out how the news industry and journalism has been corrupted over the last three-or-four decades. Elon is correct Of course, we are ST and R&T have been telling the same types for go fuck themselves for years. Now if we could just accumulate enough "fuck you" money.  |

You don't even have to have his kind of money. If we did that (figuratively speaking) in all walks of life, the Karens and Commissars would not have the power that they do today.
It may be a small thing, but when Mdm. Flu refused to follow the arrows down the supermarket aisle, she was given them an implicit "GFY." We need that everywhere. Multiply that by 10 million. That's power. Good for Elon for showing the way. And I'm sure he made David Brooks and David French cry.
