It's hard to beat Gomez. Arguably (and please do argue), Betti Davis did more to glamorize cigarette smoking than anyone else:

Of course, going back a little we could give Gloria Swanson her due: I'm not sure if this is her in this second picture, but it's a good one:

I always had a think for the original Breck girl (well, she should have been with that hair), Veronica Lake. The Bugs Bunny cartoons probably first introduced me to that personage: What has that to do with smoking? She's just smoking hot. But, surprisingly, I can't immediately find her with a cigarette in her mouth. Oooo, baby:

I know Gloria Swanson as the original Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard. When Andrew Lloyd Weber made a musical play of it, one of those who toured in it was Dame Petula, whose itinerary included some performances in Louisville. Elizabeth and I saw it, though we were in the very back row and really couldn't recognize any faces at that distance.

They made a musical of that? Interesting. With Our Lady of the Immaculate Petula singing in it, it must have been great. Speaking of cigar smokers, how could I forget this one? Other than Churchill, is anyone else more associated with the cigar?

So you've been a Marxist all along! I might have known!
Incidentally, Harry Turtledove did a novella or short novel (Hail! Hail!) about the Marx brothers getting caught up in a severe storm while traveling through Texas on their way to their next appearance (this was after Duck Soup and with no definite next movie). A too-close lightning bolt sends them back in time to the real Fredonia a century earlier. Stuck in the past (but fortunately somewhat aware of events due to things they learned in a previous visit to the state), they have to find some way to thrive, with interesting results.

Those various shots of stars smoking are very good, but you outdid yourself with the photo of Veronica Lake. I, too, have long had a thing for her. There is something about her that is unique. I would even give up smoking cigars (if I still smoked them) for her.
Definitely not a capitalist.
This is more the image that came to mind when that girl mentioned I looked like a capitalist.

I haven't played Monopoly since I was a kid. Of course, there are many modern versions, usually based on different places but presumably otherwise much the same. There was even a game called Anti-Monopoly, based on doing antitrust cases.

Yeah. That Monopoly guy is a great image of a capitalist.
