Following on the forum post we have on ST, I am happy to provide the following link which shows that the jury has awarded the store/bakery max. damages i.e. $33 million on top of the original $11 million. For some legal reason, the total amount will likely be max. $33 million.
Of course the lawyers for Oberlin are squawking that such a fine will "hurt the students, who had nothing to do with this."
I am waiting for the next case.

It's amusing for Oberlin's lawyers to complain about how expensive the settlement would be. They have nearly a billion dollar total endowment, so we're talking about 5% of it being sacrificed. That's nothing like the Covington suits against NBC and CNN (and no doubt others to come). Those could be a lot of fun.

The rendering of "prompt justice" used to be a basic tenet of our judicial system. Since the courts no long seem to be applying this standard, it is incumbent upon the citizen to do so. Here is a wonderful example of a citizen administering prompt justice. Whack, whack, whack

It is coming to the point that criminals will have to be dealt with in this manner. Call it vigilantism, but the police are not doing their jobs, and the giant corporations make so much money that they would rather let the thieves walk away with the stolen goods, than deal with the potential legal cost which might arise from protecting their stores. As the good man says, they raise the prices for the law abiding. Its no sweat off Home Depot's back. The burden falls on the customer. We have had such situations in the past. San Francisco was famous for setting up a vigilante committee due to the corruption of the government and police. You ain't walkin' away with that

Excellent. And I wouldn’t call his vigilantism. I would call it justice.
