Yes, Milli Vanilli. I believe one of them committed suicide after being outed as lip syncers. As I recall, they weren't really even singers.

Yeah, Milly Vimali. About as gay as it is possible to be; and pubescent girls went nuts. Much simpler times. It is almost too bad the Cold War ended.

Fil seems to be a very nice guy. At least on-screen, you're not likely to see him drop any f-bombs. But he made a point that perhaps most viewers (not yuze guys) missed. And that was the yutes likely prefer the fake voice, if only because they are immersed in it.
Makes sense. They are absolutely soaking in fakery all around them:
1) "Climate change" 2) Fake boobs (thought I'd throw that in) 3) Fake news 4) Fake compassion 5) Fake experts 6) Fake science 7) Fake knowledge 8) And it is my position that "social media" is mostly used for faking one's life.
So why not fake singing? Movies are full of fake plots, fake acting, fake directing, and fake screenplays. Movies, in particular, are racking up hundreds of millions via fake talent.
Politicians have always been fake. But this is not realized by the vast majority who actually take them at face value.
Vegetarianism is fake nutrition. They're even faking the sexes. What have I left out? Lots, because not all that much is real anymore. We are even getting to the point of having fake DEI airline pilots (United).

It has been my experience that even those who are truly conservative do not think very deeply about their individual actions as regards how they relate to the overall consumer society. They may be good people who try and live moral lives but they don't seem to see how they are enmeshed in a culture which is not only promoted by politicians, but by huge corporations which corrupts them through habit and convenience.

I disagree with nothing that you say. And I say that it bothers me to buy from Amazon. But you won't catch me in Target. I don't drink beer, so Bud Light is irrelevant. Ben & Jerry's ice cream? Of, Jesus H. Any conservative who eats that deserves scorn and ridicule.
But at the end of the day, purity is very difficult to find. But that's the thing. I'm trying to be a good conservative citizen. Proof #1 is that it actually does bother me to give even one dime to these fiends which is why it may be a cold day in hell before I ever visit Seattle again.
But I've long noted the category of (geez...I've forgotten the name) of "conservatives" who display and wear all the right paraphernalia but can't be bothered to make even small efforts to stem the tide.
And that, my friend, is a pretty good sign that these are actually Consumers, not conservatives. Like I said, any kind of self-denial is out of fashion and completely at odds with our Consumerist culture. By their fruits you will know them. No pun intended, but it does work in that regard as well.
Instead of being down roughly 30% year over year, Bud Light (in an even moderately imperfect world) would be down at least 45%.

The West is in need of a huge reality enema, as it is clear that something has caused a complete failure of perception by those who are supposed to understand what is happening. For example, this anal orifice, who is the German Minister of Finance, fails to mention the primary reason for the rapid decline of the German economy. Phrases like, "we are no longer competitive" and "we are getting poorer because we have no growth" are pablum. We are poorer because we are poorer Of course, the ass won't come out and say why Germany is getting poorer. Let me state the case for him: Germany is getting poorer because: it has adopted the insane green energy religion. As a result,
1. It has forbidden the use of nuclear power 2. It has pushed for solar and wind power 3. It had closed its coal-powered energy plants. (They have been forced to reopen some) 4. It depended on cheap energy from Russia to paper over the nuttiness of the above points. Germany is a highly industrialized economy, dependent on exports of machinery and such to prosper. Without cheap energy, the economy will wither. It is already happening as many manufacturing companies have already moved production offshore and more are planning to. Yet the dick-of-a-finance minister is unable to state the truth of the situation. Government officials in the USA are also congenitally unable to speak the truth. As long as the citizens are not able or willing to point out the truth, the West is doomed. This is the result of having pagans in charge.

Germany was murderous in the hands of the National Socialists. But the modern German Socialists are still quite destructive.
The fantasy of CO2 being a poison that will cause the earth to warm to a disastrous degree is one of the most bizarre notions of our age. We used to be satisfied with our kooks being fringe elements. You know, the kind that believed the government had alien artifacts at Roswell. Such people never even considered shutting down functioning power plants to serve their fantasies. But now the Leftist Fundamentalists are in control of government, schools, the media, and the entertainment complex.
They really believe this stuff. Now, to be fair (to quote Saint Timothy), it's probably just as bothersome to them that there are places known as Los Angeles (City of Angels), etc. They must hate that there are crosses and Christian names (Corpus Christi) all throughout the land. For we could acknowledge the possibility of all of this Christian stuff being an equal fantasy as the CO2 stuff.
So instead of grand Cathedrals such as Notre Dame being built we have such things as "Climate Pledge Arena" in Seattle where the (pagan?) Kraken play. Whatever one believes, and I have no wish to offend Christians, clearly our civic religion has changed, and in a big way.
Oh, god yes, if only we had genuine bona fide Pagans to deal with. A few cows being tipped over is nothing compared to what the Leftist religious kooks are doing.

I read a similar article at The Federalist the previous day.
I won't gratuitously bash Trump because I don't believe in piling on. It would just create bad feelings. You know what I think about Trump. This just confirms it. It seems it will be hard to overturn the Deep State if you keep financing it.
I would say that because Trump is a fundamentally immoral man that he finds it very difficult to draw lines between right and wrong. In his world, it seems you're measured either by being a back-slapper (or financier) or anything-other. Trump's worldview revolves around Trump. Period.
I would simply say that Trump is fundamentally more swamp. But in terms of the economy, he would be a useful alligator in that swamp. But in regards to the culture wars, he is the very thing he most dislikes: a Loser.

Today we watched an episode of To Tell the Truth that featured E. Fuller Torry, M.D. His book/topic being featured was Witchdoctors and Psychiatrists: The Common Roots of Psychotherapy and Its Future. The topic sounded like a lot of malarkey. He was saying that witchdoctors produced the same results as psychiatrists. That seemed absurd on the face of it. Surely here was yet another multi-culti "noble savage" kook. And I still don't rule that out. But I certainly in this episode wrote him off as a liberal crank. However, he wrote a number of books, including Freudian Fraud: The Malignant Effect of Freud's Theory on American Thought and Culture. The first review at Amazon is a long one but a quite descriptive one. Here it is in full: --- If I had to live over again I should devote myself to psychical research rather than psychoanalysis. -Sigmund Freud _Freudian Fraud: The Malignant Effect of Freud's Theory on American Thought and Culture_ by psychiatrist E. Fuller Torrey traces the role of Freudian theory (particularly that concerning the role of sex in childhood development) in American culture and thought. Freud postulated that the behavior of children was sexual in nature and maintained a highly dogmatic position about such notions as the Oedipus complex throughout his life. This book examines the harmful role of Freudian theory in American culture. Torrey argues that Freudian theory is not only unscientific but has been harmful leading to a culture of narcissism and irresponsibility. Torrey begins by discussing Freud's practice as a psychoanalyst. Freud was very influenced by occult ideas, including numerology as well as the idea of his fellow physician Wilhelm Fliess that the nose is linked to human sexuality. This led Freud to operate on the nose of many patients, leading often to permanent disfiguration. In addition, Freud advocated the use of cocaine as a panacea for all physical and mental ills and took the drug heavily himself. Freud's system also was very denigrating towards women viewing the mother as the source of all mental problems and personal unhappiness. Nevertheless, because Freud openly discussed sex as the source of mental problems he became a favorite among those who advocated sexual liberation during the Victorian era. Prime among these figures was the anarchist Emma Goldman who became enthralled by Freudianism and advocated for birth control and sexual freedom. In America, Freud's ideas became linked to leftist political thought after the emigration to this country of anthropologist Franz Boas. Torrey contrasts nature and nurture showing how at the beginning of the Twentieth century rightists were associated with the nature side of the spectrum, often advocating eugenics and biological determinism as well as racialism. In contrast, leftists were associated with the nurture side of the spectrum, often appealing directly to Freud to show that social problems were rooted in child rearing methods. Cultural relativists like Franz Boas came to advocate leftist politics while appealing to both Freud and Marx against rightists such as the racialist Madison Grant. Ruth Benedict and Margaret Mead, two of the students of Boas, became very famous with their anthropological work supposedly showing that in more "liberated" cultures adolescence was less stressful. Nevertheless, as Torrey shows the work of Mead in particular was heavily biased by faulty methods, she came to see in the cultures she examined exactly what she expected to see because her methods of questioning influenced her informers. Mead was a bisexual and this may have led to her adoption of Freudian theory. With the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler, the nature/nurture question became settled, making it in bad taste to argue that behaviors could be genetically determined. Torrey next devotes a chapter to the influence of Freud among various political radicals and social elites, particularly among a group of leftists in New York City who openly advocated for Trotsky. Torrey also shows how Freudian ideas became influential in both the nursery and the prison system. In the nursery, the ideas of Benjamin Spock, based on Freudian concepts, came to prevail for an entire generation. It should be remembered that before Spock mankind had been successfully raising children since time immemorial. Nevertheless, Spock would come to take a prime place among a generation of individuals. In the prison system, Freudian ideas were used often to argue that criminals were products of a dysfunctional childhood. This frequently allowed criminals such as Leopold and Loeb to be given lighter sentences and led to an abuse of the insanity defense. Indeed, the notion of personal responsibility became untenable in the light of Freudian theory. Torrey next turns his attention to the intellectual elite, including individuals like Marcuse, Goodman, and Brown who often advocated a combined Freudianism and Marxism as part of the New Left. It should be noted that although Freudianism was frequently linked to radical politics in America, that Freud himself was an elitist. Freud looked down upon lower members of society and his services were pretty much uniformly offered to only the wealthy class. Indeed, Freud refused to treat the severely mentally ill. Torrey suggests that Freudianism has led to a massive misallocation of resources, in which the most severely ill are never treated or treated with Freudian nonsense, while those who have only life complaints are given full Freudian analyses. Nevertheless, Freud must be credited for his promotion of the idea of the unconscious. Torrey also notes the similiarity of Freudian analysis to a religion, emphasizing its Jewish influence, something that cannot be overstated. Torrey concludes with two appendices in which he discusses the influence of Freud on intellectuals (...) After reading this book, I became more convinced than ever that Freudian ideas have been highly harmful to the psychic well-being of many Americans. In addition, the linkage between Freudian ideas and elitist leftist politics has proven disastrous for this country and for man's freedom. --- Let's just say that anyone who can so forthrightly state that Freud was a destructive crank is alright in my book. And perhaps now I understand the concept of that other book. Psychoanalysts are indeed as valuable as a witchdoctor.

Wow. That's on-topic, for sure.
"If you don't agree with us, you are 'food-shaming'." Only idiot liberal women could think like that. I'm glad she pointed it out in her critique. No problem with that. But I would have appreciated her saying something like, "Only hysterical liberal chicks could invent an absurd term such as 'food-shaming'."

I have never understood why anyone would give a shit (sorry but I use vulgarity here for emphasis) what complete strangers on social media think about them. How can one be shamed but a phone? I understand it if one is ridiculed by kids in school or family.

Seinfeld delivered the commencement address at Duke University on Sunday. This is completely consistent with the maternal Leftest "safety" society where women abort their children and, possibly in over-compensation, wish to nurture "society" and eradicate all hurt feelings "in a million and one ways." This is not the "sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me" society of the masculine male. Really, I think that's about all one needs to know. Now, of course, there is need for both points of view. It takes some wisdom to apply them situationally. There is a time for each. But the maternal "caring" society has completely eradicated "sticks and stones" and we're basically then left unable to handle the normal slings and arrows of living with other people in the real world. Thus people are "triggered." And not only because they want to be (it is a useful weapon) but because they've never been taught sticks-and-stones. This is all consistent with the conservative observation that the Left has little to no sense of humor.

Let's assume for sake of argument that Jesus Is/was not a modern social-justice-warrior Jew. Let's also assume that I am self-ware enough to differentiate between the letter of the law and spirit of the law.
But the parable in Matthew 25 is an interesting one. I am frequently turning away the bums, blood-suckers, pirates, transients, and all of that kind who have been mis-branded as "the homeless." I turn them away every chance I get. I've denied them use of my bathroom and in one case even denied someone a request for a glass of water.
All of this must be seen within the context of the abuse heaped upon me and my property by "the homeless." And it has been relentless. I've come to know them only too well. Yes, occasionally there is a somewhat sympathetic person who passes through. But mostly they are barbarians who are quite sure that I don't actually own what I say that I do and the private property is obviously a concept they don't believe in. I do believe if these people gained power they would murder me in my own bed.
So how do I reconcile my outlook toward "the homeless" with that Jesus quote? I'll tell you:
A guy pulled into the parking lot a couple hours ago. He got out of the car and started messing around with something on the back of his car. It looked suspicious and I've seen this many times. People pull into the parking lot and just use it as, I guess, their temporary office away from home. I looked out the window a while and watch him while he's fiddling with something. It was a black guy in a truck that was a little beat up.
So I finally step out and say "Is there anything I can help you with?" He tells me he needs to replace his brake light. But from his speech, I can tell that he is mentally retarded. Not drunk. Not on drugs. Just a little slow.
He's got the bulb in hand and so I take a look at the cowling of the taillight. I say, "Wait a minute. Let me get a Philips screwdriver and I'll be right back."
So I go in and get the screwdriver. I tell him to tap on the brake lights so that we can see if one or both of them are out. It's only the left one that is out. So I unscrew the one screw (the other was missing) and it pops easily off. Wow...that's quite a step up from the pain-in-the-ass that my Ford Focus is. But I digress.
The old bulb housing easily unscrews. He has purchased the correct bulb so I swap that in and have him test it before we screw everything back in. It works. I screw the taillight back on and he's good to go.
He thanked me and I told him no problem. Have a great day. He took off soon after.
So I'm just saying I'm not a bad guy. But I'm also not suckered in by the vipers and vandals they call "the homeless." I've talked to them...many of them. These are, by and large, a really bad bunch of people.
But if someone needs help, I'll do what I can, if I can. It's not helping people that I object to. It's the entire false narrative that "the homeless" are just some down-on-their-luck people. No. There's much more going on than that. Most of them seem to be vandals, moochers, and just generally quite selfish and hostile.
I do believe that Jesus could make such distinctions. It's not that the homeless are not due some sympathy. But they are not "homeless." Their home is wherever they damn well want it to be, whether it is their property or not. I think Jesus, if he was walking the earth today, would have a special parable for the "homeless" and all the useful idiots who either support this evil and/or facilitate the degradation of their fellow human beings by normalizing anti-social behavior. Get them into drug and alcohol rehab, then we can talk.

I believe Paul, Silas and Timothy addressed this type of thing; at least partially.
2 Thessalonians 3:6-12
6 Now we charge you, brethren, in the name and on the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, that you withdraw and keep away from every brother (fellow believer) who is slack in the performance of duty and is disorderly, living as a shirker and not walking in accord with the traditions and instructions that you have received from us.
7 For yourselves know how it is necessary to imitate our example, for we were not disorderly or shirking of duty when we were with you - we were not idle.
8 Nor did we eat any one's bread without paying for it, but with toil and struggle we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden or impose on any of you [for our support].
9 [It was] not because we do not have a right [to such support], but [we wished] to make ourselves an example for you to follow,
10 For while we were yet with you we gave you this rule and charge: If any one will not work, neither let him eat.
11 Indeed, we hear that some among you are disorderly - that they are passing their lives in idleness, neglectful of duty - being busy with other people's affairs instead of their own and doing no work.
12 Now we charge and exhort such persons [as ministers in Him exhorting those] in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, that they work in quietness and earn their own food and other necessities.
This is the type of biblical message which is too often forgotten, or intentionally omitted in such discussions.
The above verses were from The Amplified Bible published by Zondervan Publishing House, 1965 third printing. I received this from cousins for my thirteenth birthday in 1966.
Parenthesis ( ) and Dashes --: signify additional phases of meaning included in the original word, phrase of clause of the original language.
Brackets [ ]: contain justified clarifying words of comments not actually expressed in the immediate original text.
