Good for the professor. We need to resist.

The reason our country is experiencing the present upheavals can be laid almost 100% at the feet of the Republican Party betraying its base by not resisting leftist insanity for the last fifty years. This lack of spine and/or deceit, has been particularly bad over the last thirty years.
Within months of Trump's election, it became clear that things would be brought to a head. This is due to the fact, that for all his shortcomings, Trump loves America and is not willing to smile and let the left simply continue its march toward socialism and globalism. He put up a fight and that caused mass insanity on their part in that it made them to show their true colors and agenda, which is not popular with a lot of people in the USA. Whether Trump came too late to save the country is a question that will probably be answered shortly.

I love this sheriff and the governor of Florida standing behind him. Again, this is how it is done.
What too many people don't seem to understand is that the Democratic Bolsheviks are unleashing the riots on the population to cower them. These protests are not spontaneous nor are they out of control. They are following a script written by revolutionaries throughout history. Release the thugs on citizens and the community, neuter, or disband law enforcement in order to allow the destruction or surrender of your chosen enemies. Once this is done, place your thugs in the positions of law-enforcement . Continue to terrorize the populace with your sadistic thugs who now wear uniforms and badges. When your thugs start getting too uppity, bring in new thugs to eradicate the old thugs.

More academics need to make this kind of stand. Although there are universities that would never consider making this kind of demand, Hillsdale is one of them.

I can’t take issue with that. And if I did, I would lose.
Back in 1789, it was arguable (in retrospect) that we might not have gelled as a nation without George Washington as president. Since then, it’s hard to find an indispensable president.
And we can’t expect (nor do I suppose that you think we can) a president to overcome the general tilt and tenor of a people.
The Catholics have their current anti-Pope because they had long ago replaced the Gospel with various forms of Marxism. I think as a people in America, it’s the same thing. Granted, there is an indoctrination machine that needs to be violently broken up (I see no other way). But as it sits now, the people of the United States are generally pretty rotten.
And don’t say that with glee. I only note that I finally understand what C.S. Lewis meant about “men without chests.” Few men (or women) have a moral bearing that can’t be knocked over by a feather. Few are grounded in anything deeper than Twitter. Few will stand up for what is right if it causes them the least discomfort.

Please take that sheriff and make a thousand copies of him. It is that kind of straightforward, non-namby-pambyness that we need. In fact, I thought my meter wasn't plugged in because the needle wasn't moving at all.

Looks like a black man got fed up with BLM types. Throw downHe handled that yute like a Raggedy Ann Doll. Like the article, which I posted yesterday said, violence is going to be one way this thing is going to be worked out and the snowflakes are at a disadvantage there.

This story has been around since yesterday morning. I admit, I have never watched basketball so I don't care one way or the other, as far as the sport goes. But I love this as a cost/benefit type of analysis thing. Are these assholes and their enablers suffering enough pain yet? I hope not. The viewership is dribbling away

That is indeed excellent news. High fives all around. Hopefully we can get those numbers even lower.
A fair point, Matt.

More news on the NBA's self-immolation! It is only getting better. Ha ha ha ha ha.
I agree with one of the posters below the article. This is a real poll on what will happen on November 3rd.

There were over 1400 responses by the time I got to it, so I didn't go hunting for the response KFZ mentioned. I added to the total, though it took two tries because Disqus (at least on Breitbart) forbade the use of "Shylock". (No doubt this represents the standard view of him as the villain of the play, which is not my naturally vengeful take on it. I wonder how they react to Marlowe's The Jew of Malta, the titular villain Barabbas being clearly monstrous as well as an anti-Semitic stereotype.)
And including the "Hallelujah Chorus"! Neat ploy.

NBA wound still gushing!
A new role for Lebron. Mack the Knife.

"Mack the Knife" was taken from Berthold Brecht's The Threepenny Opera (threepenny was dreigroschen inn the original German), and I think James makes more than that, though he probably isn't worth more. Incidentally, Lotte Lenye (who is referred to in the list of names, though it's not clear here) was associated with Brecht, and later plated Rosa Klebb. MacHeath was the criminal protagonist of the play.

I saw some Brecht pieces while I lived in Vienna.
Here is the original Mackie Messer. I should make clear it is not a nice song.
Lotte Lenya is singing. She was the horrible Rosa Klebb in "From Russia with Love." As I recall, she was something of a whore, literally, and all round low life. What is commonly known as an actress.

Mack the Knife Louis Armstrong did his version years (1930s?) before Bobby Darin. I think that was the first American recording.

Yes, he did it a few years before Bobby Darin, though I don't think I've ever heard his version. He was the one who added Lenya's name as a tribute to her (in the movie of it, she played Jenny Diver, also named in the list of victims). I checked on wikipedia.
My college English reader included Brecht's play Galileo, along with comments on it by the anthologist, Lionel Trilling.

Let’s get it down there with one of those PBS knitting shows…which, by the way, unlike the NBA are useful.

Funny you should mention Bob Ross. We had a sort of “talk about Bob Ross” day here at the office. For some reason, my brother was watching a documentary on him. Bob was the opposite of our high-ego, loud, angst-filled culture. People like me who never intend to put a brush to canvas would watch him from time to time because it was so pleasant to do so.
Meanwhile, I had stumbled upon a channel that features nonstop Bob Ross. Of course, I can’t find it again. But I do see that Tubi TV has seasons 2 to 31. Bob was a student of William Alexander. May the truly worthy shows and movies gain audiences while we say, “What the heck is an NBA?” As they say, is there anything a little Prussian Blue, Mighty Magic White, or Alizarin Crimson can’t fix?
