I’m trying a 15-day free trial of Walmart’s home delivery service. The relevant web site is is Walmart Grocery. There’s a $35.00 minimum and you have the option to pick it up at the store. I’m having mine delivered. Delivery is $12.95 or you can get free delivery for $98.00 per year. Shopping via their website was fairly easy although I had to allow pop-up windows for this site in order to make it work. I had a little trouble at checkout. The prices seems fine. And I don’t have to wear a damn mask. That’s the whole point.

I am sorry to advise you that Walmart is another woke company which has just pledged something like US$100 million to some "racial awareness" causes. Just buying protection and virtue signaling, in my opinion. My wife and I have decided to forego shopping there.

Finding a company that isn’t paying racial protection money is difficult these days.

It sure is, and when you do find one, the goods generally costs more than at the virtue-signaling company.
If you are dealing in high-tech, it is just about impossible to find sane companies to deal with.

Hi tech is the worst in terms of hoping to buy-off the race hustlers.
In terms of the food delivery service, the way this works at Walmart is that you pick a day and hour for the delivery. My delivery is today sometime between 2 and 3 pm. The food will be left at the door. What I hope to find out is:
1) Will they be on time? 2) I ordered some bananas and tomatoes. Will they be crap? 3) I check “substitution allowed” for all items. Will they substitute anything? Will the substitution be better or worse? 4) Some items (such as milk) will be cold. Will they be delivered still cold? 5) If they find the place, will the deliver to they correct door? (I included instructions in the order.)

The delivery came on time. And it was actually a good looking blond who delivered it. The one substitution was for what looks like crap bread instead of The Rustik Oven Sourdough that I had ordered. But the proof is in the tasting so I’ll find out about that later. I got a notice that the goods would be arriving at 2:17. I was fairly sure they would ignore my delivery instructions so I went around to the other side of the building to wait. Sure enough, she showed up at the wrong door and I told her to go around to the other side of the building. She then did note that she just noticed that note in her instructions. The prices for the items seem okay although the milk is a little expensive. And it certainly wasn’t delivered ice-cold by any means. But I can see that if you work within their parameters, this is a good way to get your groceries without having to go out. Great for people who might not drive or wish to drive. And great for those who don’t want to risk exposure to the Kung Fu Flu…or to acquiesce to the Fascist Democrats by wearing a mask. Governor Insley can go eff himself. Whether I sign up for this service hinges on the bread. If it’s a poor substitution, that will reflect poorly on them. The other option is just to not sign up and pay the delivery charge. I’m not sure I want to really get tied in for a year to Walmart for groceries. But I will have to say that the whole process (including the ordering) went well. And the drivers are Uber-like contract drivers. I talked to the chick for a second and she does not only this service but a couple others that you can get an app for. I was wondering if I should have tipped her. Maybe if I do this again and she’s the driver and also shows cleavage like she did today. Just being real here, not PC.

Okay. I got a receipt via email. There is an option to tip the driver.
They made two substitutions. Instead of regular provolone, they substituted “natural smoke flavor” provolone. And despite advertised assurances that any substitutions would be as good or better, the bread they substituted looks like generic sourdough at $2.98 a loaf instead of the Rustic Oven at $3.56. They seem to have accounted for the price difference on the bill though.
If I were to do this again, I would not accept substitutions.

For a while when we were at a hotel, Elizabeth and I made use of a grocery that did deliveries. They would bring a whole lot of orders at once, and bring it to our hotel room. Since they had the room number and entered at the main entrance, there was no problem finding us and we were quite satisfied with the results for the most part. One time we had to call back because they forgot to bring in some of what we ordered, and they didn't always have everything we wanted, but it was still a lot easier than going out to shop at a time when both of us were increasingly limited in mobility.

I think this would be wise. It has been my experience that if people can screw something up, they will.
