Every election is just a holding action. If the Demagogues win, especially in their current revolutionary and increasingly openly Marxist state, we'll be another example of "one man, one vote -- once" even though we've had a lot of elections in the past. If the GOP modestly wins (hold the presidency and the Senate, but not retake the House), we'll slow the collapse, but we'll still be one election away from the deluge. Only if the GOP wins a decisive victory (and there's no evidence of anything like that so far) might the Demagogues back away from their revolutionary dreams. And even that won't restore any of our last freedom; it will simply mean going back to the way things were a couple of decades ago.
I wonder if even a split would work at this point. The cultural factors are almost as bad in the South as in the Northeast or on the Left Coast, and even largely rural states usually have some Demagogue stronghold somewhere. The only solution would be the eradication of leftist ideologues, and I doubt that's feasible even aside from its literally murderous implications.

I have been warning of this for almost 50 years. Of course, no one listened.
While I think Duke's expectation of disunion is possible, it is only one of several possibilities.
Even if a peaceful split came about, which I doubt would happen, how would things play out afterwards? Does anyone seriously believe that the leftists, of the one part, would let things lie? In fact, they would likely do their best to undermine the "conservative" country any way possible. Think of the alliances the leftists would form against the new conservative country. I suspect Red China would be one of the first countries the leftist would align themselves with.
I have been pondering the possibilities open this country since before the Obamanation took power. None, and I mean none, of them are good. If I had to choose one which would be most effective, it would be to eradicate enough of the left to erase their threat. But even that would be very dangerous, because I guarantee you China would be watching with a very keen eye and waiting for the best time to do us harm. You can be sure, they and other countries would have a hand in keeping any civil unrest going.
