We sometimes forget that even in these absurd times men and women are still building, commissioning, and manning our fleet. The Delbert Black is an Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer and will likely be in commission for up to fifty years. She is named for the first MCPON (Master Chief petty Officer of Navy). The entire video is rather long and follows a tradition of commissioning of navy ships dating to the before the Declaration of Independence with few changes. news.usni.org/2020/09/25/navy-to-commission-destroyer-delbert-d-black-this-weekend-in-cape-canaveralThe Arleigh Burke class is the largest class in the navy and in firepower far exceeds any WWII battleship. She has the ability to launch tomahawks, ship to air and ship to ship missiles, in addition to landing seals and marine recon. A fast ship going in harm's way.

Very cool. A half dozen of those in 1941 would have been very useful for the British against the U-boats.
