As some may recall, I work fairly regularly on my old car. I am therefore always on the lookout for tools which might help make this task easier.
I had this in mind when I bought myself a Christmas present during a recent visit to Sam's Club.
The ePOWER 360 is a combination LED lantern, flashlight and emergency light.
I had planned to wait until Christmas to open the three pack. However as I decided to change the rotor, distributor cap, wires and plugs in my car I knew illumination of my engine today, not after Christmas, would be necessary. So I took out one of the lanterns to see how it worked.
I was pleased to note that one lantern performed so well that I didn't need to bring out other lights. Not only does the lamp shed a good amount of light, it can been attached to the hood because of the powerful built-in magnets on the lamp's base.
The actual device is simplicity itself. There are two handles positioned so that one can carry it around as a lantern. There is another handle positioned so as to carry the lamp as an old-fashioned hand-held spot light. To use the lantern function, one only has to pull the lid up and the lights shine like a standard camp lamp. Push the lid back down and push the button and one has a powerful flashlight. I used the old stare-in-light test to determine how powerful the flashlight is and I can confirm it is very powerful. Finally, push the button twice in succession and the flashing-red warning light starts up.
I paid less than $20- for a pack of three lanterns, including batteries, which is a real deal.
Even though I have opened the package, I will wrap it up and place it under my tree for Christmas morning. After all, there are two more lanterns waiting to be used.
