That's a good idea. I don't if all of the previous posts on such books could be consolidated under such a heading.

Okay, I moved your post here, no problem. The other option is to create a “Detective Novels” sub-forum in the Books forum (think of it as a folder) into which other threads (Scotland Yard, Maigret, etc.) could be moved and exist as they do now, as single thread (but now organized together). There are already some forums that have that.
Of course, if we really were neat-freaks we could create another subfolder inside of “Detective Novels” that might look like this:
[Top Forum] Books
[sub-forum] Detective Novels
[sub-sub-forum] Scotland Yard [item] Ian Rutledge [item] Jack the Ripper
[sub-sub-forum] Maigret [Item] Rowan Atkinson portrayals [Item] Michael Gambon portrayals
[sub-forum] Classics
[sub-forum] History
[sub-forum]
Etc. Etc. You see this done in the TV/Streaming section.

That's pretty nifty. Sometimes I can't recall under the exact heading I have posted something. A "Detective Novels" heading should help with my organization.

That organization looks fine, though I suspect it will involve a lot of work for you. I'll try to think of some possible additions. Incidentally, if enough are added you will want a "miscellaneous" category.
Hmm, let me think of an Agatha Christie or Dorothy Sayers novel to add to the classics. For the former, And Then There Were None would be the obvious choice, but she also had 3 great plays (Ten Little Indians based on the novel -- which was originally titled Ten Little Niggers in Britain, Witness for the Prosecution based on an inferior short story of the same title, and the still-playing The Mousetrap).

It’s kind of you to care. [sniff sniff] No, actually, some of this geek stuff I like doing. The real truth is that the just-schlep-out-words right part of my brain (the freeform part) tends to get dominance over the keep-stuff-organized tidy left side of my brain. Or vice versa. I forget. I’m sure you all have similar qualities.
I’ve dealt with artists off-and-on all my working life. Let me tell you, there are only so many CPU cycles in most people’s brains. If God gives them Artistic Talent he tends to take away the Being Organized talent. Oy vey.
I’m lucky enough to have both and I can switch between them. The problem is (and I wouldn’t insult you by being modest), I’m half-assed at either. But, better to have a lot of tools in one’s belt, I guess.
I’ll do a basic structure with the books and might move some existing stuff into it as well. Certainly things such as a sci-fi category makes sense. That’s pretty basic.
I’m not sure I’ll have a “Ten Little N-words” category. But perhaps a “Mystery” category would work for that.

Okay, the reorg of the books section is more or less done. Should the label be “Biographies” or just “Biography”?
I made some small changes here and there as well. Nothing big. For example, having tried Acorn TV and opted out, I took it off as a main sub-forum (but moved the posts about it to “Misc.”).
It was no big deal to impart some organization to what had become just a big sock drawer into which you throw your socks. And I’m actually kind of okay with that. I’ve had too many experiences with forum moderators who were neat-freaks or control-freaks. No thanks.
But having put some of the socks in the sock drawer, and underwear in the underwear drawer, etc., it made me realize that it would help the reader to better grasp any book review if in the first paragraph it at least said what kind of book it was (biography, historical fiction, whatever) and a link to where to download it or buy it. For about half of the entries that I had to put into a drawer, I had to do a beat of research on Amazon just to figure out what genre of book it was.
My attitude for posting and reviews is never solipsism. I assume there is a mind out there who isn’t privy to what I already know or am thinking, thus it’s nice to give people a running start when writing about a book. I don’t always do it myself but I think it’s a useful thing to do.

I think "Biography" is generally used, but I prefer "Biographies."
Things look a bit more tidy now. I will have to let the changes sink it to be sure, but I think headings are more natural, i.e. they lead the reader to where he wants to go in a logical way.

Thanks for the advice. “Biographies” it shall be. And if anyone has some reviews from StubbornThings that they think are good enough to go here, cut-and-paste and create a post in the relevant sub-forum. I’ve done a little of that in the past and may do more. What else ya gonna do on lockdown?
Note: New sub-forums can be created on demand. If more than two or more “Action and Adventure” books show up that are *not* classics (I think most of those I’ve read in that category would be), then that category can be added. Etc.
