A short moment for you to say WHO? Khatia Buniatishvili is Georgian and plays piano with style and grace. I have not followed classical music artists for a long time, feeling free to stick to those I have come to love. This gal has not only a lot of talent but the looks to go with it. I happened across a you tube of Rhapsody in Blue and was gob struck. I've watched it twice now hoping that her dress will defy gravity. No such luck, but the performance is great. The soloist and orchestra are in perfect harmony it is a thing of beauty. The same holds true in every profession, that moment when everything is perfect and humming along with out mistake or trouble, when G-d is speaking and you actually hear his voice. These moments are rare, but for a brief time in Rhapsody in Blue there it is for all the world to see. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEJeNuF8gb8

The woman is certainly very talented. Her performance turned out to be very different from what I had expected by her demeanor at the beginning of the piece. She turned out to be fiery. I enjoyed the piece, but felt there were bars which she played too fast. Of course, such objections are generally a question of taste. Nevertheless, I will give a listen to some of her other performances. By the way, she is technically excellent.

Well, I never got beyond Floyd Cramer lesson number 2, but watching her totally in tune with the orchestra was something. Not to be crude but it was like she was having perfect sex with all 80 at the same time.

That thought did not occur to me, but I did feel her playing to be very sensual. But I have always found musicians are a very sensual group in general and music is a very sensual medium, which can evoke a spiritual experience.

You're just beggin' for a Limerick, aren't you?
There once was a randy conductor He was also a piano instructor. He had an idea "Let's feature Khatia" And along with the woodwinds he ____ ____.

I will say in all seriousness that I've never heard Rhapsody in Blue done better. That's not really one of my favorite pieces. But these guys really put some energy into it.
