This is the result of a chat with a few friends over the last week.
Reform of Elections
Some proposals to reform the election process. The American people are generally displeased with legislators, House and Senate. Satisfaction with the work, or lack of it, has approval numbers of congress in the 20% range, on a good day.
One of the primary complaints about congress is the failure of congressmen to keep in touch with the American people.
Another is that election to congress is, more often than not, viewed as a lifetime position where the congressman can grow old and rich.
The leaders of the House and Senate are often frail and weak of mind.
Term limits might solve some parts of these concerns and it is certainly a part of the solution. However, it does not solve all the problem.
1. It is time to change is the method of newly elected legislators. The election process should only begin on the first of May in the election year. No campaigning is allowed from the previous election until May of the election year. Not only will this save the campaigns money it will not annoy the voters with trivial advertising.
2. All of the election process will be completed within 48 hours of the election
3. All ballots will be paper, no voting machines.
4. Absentee ballots must be requested by the voter. No mass mail of ballots.
5. Upon election the prospective legislator will prepare for office.
Walk of the legislators:
1. Every two years, by lottery, a transit point will be selected using the 50 state capitals.
When the transit capital is selected the newly elected legislators will begin walking to the transit capital. Once used that capital is taken out of the lottery for two election cycles.
2. It is at the discretion of the proposed legislator to choose his own route and companions, if any.
3. Each legislator must walk the distance from their state capitol to the transit capital. They are allowed to ride, solicited, or offered, for one hour each day.
4. From the transit capitol to DC the legislator is allowed any means of transportation they choose. . In the event of death of a legislator in transit to the capital a special election will be held, and the newly elected replacement may resume at the place of the legislator they are replacing.
5. Congress, both houses may convene on the last day of January. Providing that 99% of each house is physically in the capital. That would be 99 senators and 430 house members
6. Members of congress will spend the first 90 days repealing laws and regulations. No new legislation is allowed for proposal during this time.
7. Member of congress who leave the capital for any but government business must walk to the transit capital, they may then use any means of transportation they choose. On returning they must walk from their capital to the transit capital again.
8. A legislator who, by intent, absents themselves to control the flow of legislation will be fined $100,000 per day. After five days AWOL the seat is declared empty and the legislature will continue its business.
9. The focus of the rest of the legislative session is the federal budget which must be completed no later than 1 October the beginning of the financial year.
10. The election of the president and vice president will not change. In presidential election years the newly elected president will continue to take office and appoint a cabinet in the same manner. The president is not allowed to use executive orders to supplant the legislative process.

I can see a Road Warrior scenario. This would be a great chance to give some "feedback" to elected officials when you see them walking along the side of the road.
I couldn't find a video of someone throwing trash onto an actual person on the side of the road. This will have to suffice:

To actually meet, talk with and travel with Joe Doaks, Sally Soaks and all the folks is part of the intent. Also to remind them that they are elected to serve the people and their needs not their own. It would I believe eliminate the octogenarians as even a few hundred miles in November walking to say, Bismarck S. Dakota is going to require more physical fitness than average and well above that of nasty Nancy. A subtle but important idea is the humbling experience.

That this subject is even on our radar is due to the fact that there was huge corruption in the 2020 election. Corruption in our elections is as American as apple pie, but the 2020 election steal was so blatant that a lot of people finally woke up. That is a positive.
As I have constantly said, this is not about Trump. This is about taking back or losing America. Period. If it takes a Trump to push it forward, more power to him. America must stop having third-world elections.

Clearly that makes you an octogenarianphobe.
There once was some voter introspection About how to keep the fools from election Brad said "Out with the ladies" Artler asked "What if they're 80"? Kung cried "Out with them all, no exception."

Like the lies about the KFF and jab, the truth is coming out/being acknowledged about the stolen 2020 election. This is just another of the many factual points which have come out about the damn computers called voting machines. What happened to the common sense point of view, "if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck." The 2020 elections had mallards, teals, northern pintails and Daffies crapping all over the voting booths and in the machines. Those who don't realize this need to wake up. Dominion sued by county

"if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck." The short answer is they don't give a duck Or, the duck is question is a trans duck and kind of walks funny after the surgery and let's not forget the vocal change due to the addition of chemicals. I guess we can no longer depend on the duck population to reveal facts.

One has to show a photo ID for all sorts of things in America. Today, I had to show my driver's license in order to deposit, not withdraw, a check into my bank account.
This is further proof that the Demonrats are fighting the photo ID requirement for voting because they want to cheat.

An excellent article by Conrad Black. He is one of the best commentators on contemporary politics. Election denial will win

Why would the election officials of counties and states fight so hard to keep voter records/rolls confidential? Why would they fight to keep from cleaning up voter rolls? To protect the voters and integrity of elections, or for some other reasons? Judicial Watch is doing good work. But I still wonder how the crooks in, and out of, government will figure out ways to corrupt our elections. Evil never sleeps. Judicial Watch and Illinois

Things have become so ingrained that many are quite willing to outright lie. Let me give an example of something which happened to me recently.
A couple of days back, I received a political mailer regarding a Republican member of the Texas Education Agency, who represents my district. The content of the main side of the mailer read as follows: It gives her contact details. At the bottom of the opposite page it says, "Paid for by Texans for Conservative School Values."
Being the curious and skeptical type, I went to my computer to look up "Texans for Conservative School Values." You may not be surprised to learn that I could find nothing regarding that group.
I decided to contact Miss Little directly and sent her a short note.
She replied as follows:
I have looked through the attachments and noted there were a few points on which the Republicans and Democrats differed. Pam Little voted the conservative side in these cases. But most of the votes were carried unanimously. Perhaps this is where the flier got the "she votes with the Democrat minority 96% of the time."
I do not know who sent out this flier. I have my suspicions, but one thing I am certain of is that they were depending on the well known slough and lack of curiosity of the American citizen. I do not even say "average" as Mdm. Flu and I vote in every election, including the metaphorical dog catcher race. I am pretty sure this flier was sent mainly to those who vote regularly, as most people don't follow the news about obscure positions.
The main point I wish to make is that, for something as seemingly innocuous as the Texas Education Agency, there are people out there who are willing to lie, cheat and smear others. This being the case, can you imagine to what lengths these people will go to win elections for Congressman, Senator or President?
Need I point out that everything having to do with anything touching the government sphere in this country is corrupt. Nothing is too small for scumbags and scoundrels to try and steal.
As my father said to me as a boy over 60 years ago, "Don't believe anything you hear and half of what you see." Good advice then and even more pertinent today.

Was the gist of the letter ultimately about fundraising? My inbox is regularly filled with this type of stuff from known (or unknown) conservative leaders and pundits. Truth be told, I've never done what you've done which is to follow the rabbit hole. But the gist of all these emails is that these people want nothing more than money. Whether or not they are fronting a real candidate who is more or less conservative never enters my mind. The tone of the emails is always "The world is going to hell unless you send your cold, hard cash now." Or buy my book. In my inbox today was a plea from David Horowitz. "The world is going to hell in a handbasket...you need to buy my book," to summarize it all. Here are direct quotes from the very start, something in the middle, and info at the end: The email address was from " Conservative Action News." Is that affiliated with Horowitz? I have no idea. There was a California address and a Virginia address. I have no idea what that means. I consider Trump a gigantic money laundering scam, playing to the same sympathies that all these others scammers do. It would be interesting to contact David Horowitz and see if he is associated with this. I almost hate to inquire because quite possibly there would go another conservative icon down the rabbit hole.
It's worth noting that Rush Limbaugh made ungodly amounts of money off of conservative angst and did little to nothing to move the needle to the right. The Left marched on. He started no significant movement or program that I know of that did other than profit from this discontent.

Nary a word was mentioned about money. Nothing. The very expensive flier (glossy on one side, matt on the other, thick paperboard, photos and artful design) simply attacked Pam Little in a disingenuous manner. It was tricky and I sensed something was bent. Someone spent a fair amount of money to "cause confusion and delay" as Sir Topham Hat says. That is to lie. Although it is not something I do often, there are times when I will follow Alice and try my best to get to the end of a rabbit hole. We are bombarded with so many lies and misdirections that I believe it worth while to do this. I make sure I have a powerful flash light for the journey. Had this been a fundraising flier it would have immediately been placed in the same file that the rest of those fliers go. The recycle bin.

Then it was almost certainly the product of the Democrat Party or affiliate who are looking to undermine a generally right-leaning (and voting) official. I would not rule out "Establishment GOP in Austin" as one of those possible "affiliates." You never know.
Maybe you can follow the rabbit hole a little further on that mailer.

My thoughts exactly. In fact, I think the later possibility is more likely than the first. The RINOs want to insert one of their own so they smear the present incumbent. They know it will be difficult for a registered Democrat to win in our district, so they tear down Little and submit their own unregistered Democrat as the "Republican" solution.
This is likely some sort of long-term plan as elections are over a year away, but campaigning will start early next year and the winner of the Republican primary will win the general election.
I want to find out who is behind "Texans for Conservative School Values."

This shadowy group, "Texans for Conservative School Values" has sent out the same flier in the districts of at least five Republican TEA board members. The only difference in each flier is the name of the board member. Cut and paste. Find out who is behind this

Oh come now, Mr. (Mrs.?) Hardy. I know you're a politician. But surprised?
Could it be funded by Soros? By someone in Texas with a specific grudge for some reason? Obviously there will be more people than just you trying to get to the bottom of this.
