Worst market since 1872 Yep, we are now in a recession headed for a depression. I went to an all cash position about 3 weeks ago.

I don't know that a majority of the electorate (as falls the Electoral College) want Trump back. But I will say that circumstances favor him at the moment as outlined by Jeff Crouere.

Given a choice between Biden or his clone and Trump. Well, it is not a choice. Hold on to your panties and vote Trump.

I'm not sure the party has learned any lessons, but individuals surely have, DeSantis is one and it appears so has Sarah Sanders, our next governor in Arkansas. From 1860 to 1912 an almost unbroken line of Republicans held power in this country as it expanded across the continent and became a world power. Even the election of 1912 maintained a GOP majority, Wilson only won because of a badly split party. That split continues to this day. In a different form but a split still the same.
The split has become worse. A portion of the Republican Party well deserves the title of the stupid party. They have relegated them selves to living the life of second class citizens, please sir, may I have another. The few who are willing to take the fight to the trenches are disparaged by the other. Donald Trump is the best example of republicans willing to eat their own. Although, a good argument can be made that many are not really republicans, Chaney for example.
For four years the American and world economy was growing. Overseas wars were drawing down America became energy independent for the first time in 50 years and the political clout brought about an historic agreement in the Mid East. In January of 2021 Americas could look out over a country that had leadership, albeit one of some questionable personal quirks. But, from a policy standpoint rock solid traditional republican.
Today we now have what is defined as a recession, two quarters of decreasing GDP. We and every other thinking person saw this coming in Jan 2021 and sadly, that prediction has come true. The next question is will the current recession turn into a depression. Democrat Party is trying, with little success, to redefine recession into transitory or some other crap. Only the usual suspects will believe it.

Couldn't have said it better.
Good summary. You are channeling VDH.
Democrats are not only the party of moochers, victims, and racists. But they are especially the party (at least this defines their voters) of battered women syndrome. The man gets drunk (fiscally and regulatorally insane), knocks her around (high gas prices, inflation), and yet she (the idiot Democrat voter) still believes that he loves her, that he will change his behavior this time. Vote Democrat. Get a recession. They never learn.
Republican voters finally did learn their lesson which is how we got Trump, for better and for worse. This abuse of Republican voters will not be admitted to by the slimy class (Williamson, Goldberg, even Lowry) of RINO Republicans. These assholes will not take responsibility for forwarding candidates that talk all conservative but act more like Joe Biden when in office. Next time National Review goes on one of their cruises, the ship should hit an iceberg whereby they all at least metaphorically drown.

Trump still has to learn the 11th Reagan commandment for an election year. "Thou shalt not speak ill of other republicans" However, boy Ron and Don need to recognize they need each other in 24. The sooner the better.

Did you read that article at NRO? What a load of hogwash and lies. Nothing honest or enlightening comes out of the NRO these days. As I have long said, and you have acknowledged, it is an organ of the Wall Street finaciers and RINOs, i.e. the Uniparty establishment. Here is an article which should put things in perspective. DeSanctimonious is about the Uniparty I went back and looked at the video of Trump making his DeSanctimonious jab. In fact, it was very mild. He gave Ted Cruz a much harder time. And the below video is what gave Trump the ability to use the DeSanctimonious jab. Of course, I would have preferred that Trump say nothing about DeSantis or Cruz, but one doesn't always get what one wishes for. By the way, the media is blowing these comments up all out of proportion. And God Made DeSantis Whoever came up with that commercial should be fired. What rubbish. Moses he ain't. It leaves DeSantis open to all sorts of ridicule from the left, which will be much worse than Ron DeSanctimonious. I have been watching DeSantis very carefully over the months and while I generally like him, I am beginning to become concerned that he is positioning himself as an establishment candidate. I also have never heard any position on foreign relations from the man. The fact that he is being supported by Ben Shapiro tends to confirm my belief that DeSantis is simply another anti-Trump candidate (who has no chance to dethrone Trump) and makes me think I will probably not like his foreign policy either. Little Ben Shapiro is a big RINO neocon slimeball, in my view.

No, I basically just scanned the headlines. But one of the bright stars in conservative politics is Ron DeSantis. Trump's name-calling just shows what an asshole he is. I'm not a never-Trumper. But I understand the impulse from those labeled as such. Trump is a jerk and an asshole. He had his time in office and left in disgrace...by his own hand. A pox upon him. We need this ass in the rear-view mirror. He can do us no good.
I'm anti-Trump. Does that make me bad? I say enough of this. The man should be rejected by all conservatives. Let's have a go with someone who isn't a man-child. I've washed my hands of this ass.

I think it’s very troubling to set this ass of a man set up as the standard for normalcy in politics. So this asshole‘s gonna call a good candidate sanctimonious with some kind of childish name. And we’re all supposed to just go “Yes, Mr. Trump. What a jerk that Ron DeSantis is.“ Well I’ve had enough of this and I am opting out. Trump can go to hell.

Nobody has to like Trump. But it helps to stay informed about what is actually happening and what is in the articles one posts. I guess I should be happy you linked to the piece as it just re-confirmed for the 100th time that NRO is an asshole organization that has nothing to do with conservatism. It is a mouthpiece for the Uniparty, Wall Street establishment and despite what some might believe, does not have the interest of the American people at heart. It is the propaganda sheet of super-rich and other wealthy interests who have been taking this nation down the tubes. It should shunned like smallpox.
As to Trump, he is going nowhere, unless he is called by the Grim Reaper. If that happens, DeSantis has a good chance of becoming the Republican Party nominee. If Trump isn't called away, DeSantis has about zero chance and all he can do is damage the chances to beat the Demoncrats.
I don't have to like Trump. I don't have to hold him up as a shining example of American manhood, what little there is left of that. But I will support and vote for him as long as he runs. I will chastise any who use falsehoods against him. I will call out those who make this simply personal. Because this is much too important for such things.
Anyone who hasn't figured out that the Uniparty, Deep State, Powers that be, or whatever you wish to call those ruling and running this country into the ground needs to get a grip. I have never, in my almost 70 years, seen anything close to the assaults made on this man. I am not talking about the bitching of the general populace, I am talking about the illegal, immoral and tyrannical assaults made by government agencies and officials as well as the monied interests behind them.
These have been going on since he started to run for the presidency and have continued relentlessly since. Not one has turned out to be true. And he did not run away. He did not give up. He has continued to fight against the scumbags in and out of government who have pursued him. These are largely the same people who have destroyed this country and brought about a state of affairs where children are being subjected to Drag Queen Days and Transgender Transitioning. These are the same people who have killed the economy, brought about the situation where the top 0.1% of the population has many times the wealth of the bottom 50%. The people who have let over 5 million illegal aliens saunter across the southern border since January 20, 2021. These are the people who imposed lockdowns and mask mandates on millions of, admittedly, sheep aka Americans.
Does anyone think that they are making this relentless attack on Trump because of his bad manners? Anyone who does believe this is a fool. They are attacking Trump because he is a threat to their interests. He is a threat because they can neither break him, nor buy him since he is a billionaire. But he is a bigger threat because he is the focal point of a movement. Unlike the Tea Party movement, Trump is able to unite and focus millions of people to a cause. The cause in not Trump, regardless of what people may think. The cause is to bring back something of the way America used to be. He is seen by these people as outsider who is willing to work with them to stop the decline into communist immorality and feudal control by the few.
This is why he is going nowhere. He is the most powerful political figure in the country. Nobody else comes close. His endorsement means a great deal to candidates. So far, something over 90% of those he has endorsed have won their primaries or seats. We will see if this number holds after next Tuesday.
No, Trump is going nowhere.

It is as I told a friend in Hongkong when Trump was running in 2016. I feared the political discourse in this country would get much worse, possibly violent, if he was elected. Not because Trump was violent, but because the Demonrats would go crazy when someone finally stood up to them, which the Republican Party had not done for decades, if then.
As Trump has stood up to them, and finally made them show their true colors causing them to panic and go for a rapid tyrannical takeover as opposed to winning by salami tactics which the dummy Republicans went along with. I am all for Trump.

Trump is a moral leper. Anyone next to him is going to seem sanctimonious.
But no worries. Trump has zero chance of being elected. But he does give the Democrats their best chance to retain the White House.
Trump stood up to no one. Trump is always for Trump. If he had a political principle other than that, it was by accident.
But the bottom line is, it's no longer enough to prop Trump up because he has the right enemies. That won't wash anymore. We need a real leader who isn't a horse's ass and whose interests are larger than his own ego. The man will continue to do damage to the conservative cause as I mentioned on Day 1 several years ago. If we normalize this man (and we have), we will be lost. And we are.

I just set up the target range this Thursday and was shooting lead pellets and low-velocity 22s (on my Henry repeating rifle). The scope that came with my Powerline 880S air gun is absolute crap and will not hold an adjustment. Monday I have coming in a Winchester scope. This will be a definite step up and I should be able to pick off Antifa from a hundred yards or more. And from what my calipers are saying, the scope should fit on the Henry as will. Both have (or seem to have) an 11mm dovetail mount. The shooting range is about 78 feet long and could be extended a few more feet it I wanted. It's really too far to shoot without a scope or you'll start putting marks in the walls. I've got a good supply of 22 ammo including a few very-high velocity rounds. I ordered four more small boxes of the CCI Quiet 22 low-velocity rounds last week. Those should arrive in several days. The nice thing about the Quiet 22's is they make relatively little noise and there isn't much of a gunpowder smell. As it turns out, the head of the range is right in front of our front door which can be left open for ventilation (and is out of sight of the public). As I quipped to my brother, this is likely the only print shop in the area that also has a shooting range. I could shoot higher velocity (regular) 22 ammo if I got the right trap box. But I see no need for that. The Quiet 22's do just fine and are in no danger of going through my existing handmade trap.
