Happy New Year.
May 2022 find a place in the dust bin of history.
It has been a hard year for Americans and the world. We still have an executive leadership that is senile and a VP who only understands two jobs, blow and hand. Our republic is on the edge of tyranny with millions crossing the southern border illegally. Billions of dollars are sent to protect the borders of other countries and nothing is done to protect our own. The evil triad of China, Russia, and Iran are planning for the downfall of the United States and few, if any, in either parties leadership seem to know or care.
Is there reason for optimism? When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
Lest we forget they promised their lives and fortune in rebellion to a government that was far less tyrannical than we have today. Thomas Jefferson and the rest are waiting for us to take action.

You won't hear me arguing against the Declaration of Independence as a remedy for what ails us. But it's worth considering who can be relied on to take up the cause of liberty. Mark Warren had a recent articled titled: Only Spiritual Brotherhood Can Save Men In The Job Crisis. His prescription is weak but provides some interesting info: If you could turn the Declaration of Independence into a video game, maybe you'd find some support. So we're left with generally toxic, indoctrinated women -- who can't find a way to keep a dude out of their own locker room -- as the necessary force to push back against Leftism. And they won't. Still, history is a long time. And there's no telling what events could transpire, for the current muck is bound to germinate some kind of rebellion by someone at some point for some reason. I hold that truth to be self-evident.

Those three are the least of our problems. Much more damage is being done by our own elites and intoxicated masses. China, Russia and Iran are not forcing the insanity of transgenderism, queer marriage, transvestite library hour and many many more immoral and perverse practices on us. Neither China, nor Russia nor Iran are leaving our borders unguarded for millions to saunter across daily. It was not China, nor Russia, nor Iran which forced shutdowns and mandatory vaccinations on us. China, Russia and Iran have not forced us to create trillions of dollars of unpayable debt. I could go on and on. That is not to say that China, Russia and Iran are not taking advantage of our degeneration, decadence and decline. They would be insane not to. Was it Napoleon who said, "when you enemy is destroying himself, it is best to do nothing"? While not completely adhering to his advice these countries are not having to do much to help the USA commit national suicide. The USA government too often uses "foreign enemies" as a tool of deflection in order to divert our attention from the crimes it is committing against us. Unless and until we wake up to this fact, we will continue down the road to perdition. I think I can see a red glow and cliff's edge in the near distance. Happy New Year, everyone.

One thing I hear and read consistently: Good riddance, 2022. I've never felt that way before. But I concur. May 2023 bring you health, wealth, happiness, and maybe an ideological win or two in the wider world. Three would be nice.

I was going to get into that cosmetic-surgery article when I had more time. Well, instead of drinking myself to a stupor and getting behind the wheel of a car (the national sport at this time of year), let us reflect and examine:
Now let's get to the meat of the article where I think the author makes some good point:
Our age: Increasingly fast-paced, and even less thoughtful. Surely even VDH would be challenged to sum it up better. Here's another aspect:
I watch a lot of YouTube videos, mainly repair videos, history videos, science videos, that sort of thing. I've read off-and-on about how the "successful" (I don't judge success by the number of "likes") YouTubers work very hard to play to YouTube's Al-Gore-rhythms. The idea of doing something because you like it or because you think it is important often takes back seat to trying to please and play to the YouTube Al-Gore-rhythms. That is, if feminism can make little monsters of women (and it does), this playing to robotic Al-Gore-rhythms makes another kind of only slightly human beast.
Another crucial point:
This could have come right out of the mouth of Dennis Prager. And the most ominous point (not specifically mentioned by the author) is in regards to what it really means to live in this "woke," "Progressive," atheist/materialist electronic world: It means giving up whatever is innately within you, or is objectively true outside you, and become a hollow pastiche of fads, trends, and groupthink. The modern person is no longer a person as much as he is a parrot.
This is not an opinion. It is now widely believed that a woman can be born with a penis. Scrambled-brains is the inevitable result of all these facile influences.

It is 22:50 new year's eve and the fireworks are scaring the dog. Surely even VDH would be challenged to sum it up better. I think VDH might take the tone of why in G-d's name do people want to look like they just got out of Bergen- Belson or any other camp? Surely, the realities of history, at least for their grandfathers would find this look horrifying.

I was going to say, do you remember the "heroin look" for fashion models a few years ago? Well… Heroin chic is backWell, after scanning that article, it would appear that "heroin chic" is a pejorative (thin-shaming) for a trend toward (I hope you are sitting down) thin women being considered more beautiful. But there really was a gaunt heroin look that swept through the fashion circles a few years back. But it would appear that simply not touting the blimpable as "beautiful" is now "heroin chic." Still, that sunken cheek cosmetic surgery is another indication of just how stupid women can be in their competition (amongst themselves) for status. No man that I know of wants his woman to look like a concentration camp survivor. This is all on them.

There is a reason that, until very recently, fat people were associated with prosperity/wealth. This applied both in Asia and Europe. Throughout history, much of humanity have looked like they just got out of Bergen-Belsen, as survival was difficult, disease rampant and food was almost always scarce. The look wasn't a choice.
Now that we live in a period of unimaginable prosperity (to our forefathers) some perversity springs forth from the dark corners of people's souls. There are always those, regardless of the epoch, who are dissatisfied with things as they are. It doesn't matter whether we are talking about times of plenty or times of want. These emotionally barren, self-hating husks wish to spread their misery. They only feel alive through the spreading of their hate and emptiness. They mock the foolish people who fall in with them, but are happy to expand their numbers as these are a sign of their success in damaging others. How anyone could question the broken nature of mankind is beyond me.

I believe much of the impulse for this comes from some desire to be "different" or "special." Anything but normal or run of the mill. Then the herd instinct kicks in and others follow. I believe there are also those who dress up in ridiculous ways in order to divert attention from themselves. In effect they are covering/hiding themselves.
I grew up in the fashion business and had a good eye for dressing people, i.e. women. If anyone takes the time to do an honest appraisal of their looks, they will be able to make the most of what they have. The most important part in dressing well is cut. If a garment is not cut well then nothing else will much matter. People must understand what cut best suits their figure. They must then understand what colors best suit their complexion, hair color and eyes. Knowing a little about what cloth is good and what isn't also helps.
Once they understand this, they can start building a wardrobe which will make them look their best. Of course, if one is a sloppy pig, not much can be done, regardless how hard one tries.
I believe I mentioned before that I saw someone actually wearing "lotus shoes." This must have been late 1979 or early 1980 in Singapore. The little old woman looked like she was bobbling across the road. Poor thing.

People can disagree with me and that doesn't mean they're an idiot. But it does make them suspect.
Retired Microsoft programmed Dave has his own channel. And he posted a video today which, I guess, is poking fun at the old duck-and-cover films. I didn't watch the whole thing. But it's low-hanging fruit even by YouTube standards.
So a commenter there says:
In reply to that I say: "Yep. And everything you say applies to the COVID mandates." I then posted another post which said:
I got some replies and it's the usual gibberish. Long story short, as propagandized and miseducated as most people are today, it will be nearly impossible for them to dig their way out of Deception Culture and into Reality Culture.
Observation #1: People have become unquestioning sheep if the word "science" is uttered in their presence. Observation #2: People are allowing other people to do their thinking for them.

One of the usual problems with such "compilations" is that they compress events, which happened over a long period of time and in a dispersed manner, into a few minute video. Thus the format misrepresents the actual level of "paranoia" or other emotion on display. This is another reason to read in order to gather historical information as opposed to watching a video.
I was there during the "duck-and-cover" times. I recall going through the drill in school. I also remember seeing a few pre-fab bomb shelters being sold in a couple of strip mall parking lots. Neither I nor, any other kid who I knew expressed paranoic levels of concern about duck-and-cover. I found the pre-fab bomb shelters were more disturbing than the duck-and-cover drills.
That said, the level of paranoia during the late 1950s and early 1960s was orders-of-magnitude less than that which we experienced during the KFF panic. Unlike government actions during the KFF panic, which are increasingly being shown to be malicious, I believe government actions during the duck-and-cover times were an example of the government not having much idea of how they might actually mitigate a nuclear strike, thus brainlessly coming up with anything to cover their helplessness and give false comfort to the public. Government lying to the people is nothing new.

Exactly. Like I said, I did not watch that entire presentation. But I had the impression it was inherently dishonest for not providing context nor the actual level of supposed paranoia. I lived in that time as well. And, believe me, very few people were running around like a chicken with his head cut off even though (sorry, again) THERE WAS A REAL THREAT OF BEING INCINERATED BY A NUCLEAR BOMB.
And what do the idiots of today due when faced with a flu bug? They shut down the entire society in a panic.
So (again, sorry) DON'T LECTURE ME ON PARANOIA.
I should rewrite all that without the caps and post it there.

My father had just returned from Korea and the anti-communist wave was very strong in our little mountain town of Big Bear CA. We were close enough to a major target, Norton AFB, that duck and cover never made any sense to anyone, especially the kids. We knew what a nuclear bomb would do. We did have one advantage, we were confident Americans. We knew we had the greatest country the world had ever seen and could conquer anything. As kids we went along with the duck and cover nonsense because it seemed to give the adults comfort. In 1962, when I was 14. We had moved back to Arkansas. I came home from school and found a full bird colonel and a master gunny on our couch. My dad had been out of the Marines for over 10 years but was called back to train marines for the landings in Cuba the Kennedy administration was planning for the fall of 62. The missile crisis changed those plans. I did not know this until just before he died in 75. When my dad returned we put in a fallout shelter in the back yard. He told people he was prepping for a possible tornado. I was more afraid then of the possibilities of nuclear war than at any time before or since. These days Americans have become scared chickens, afraid of our own shadow. The quivering Karens and the nervous Joes have given the impression that Americans can not, or will not, stand up to tyranny and oppression. I don't fear the tyrant in his palace they are cowards and can be killed. I do not fear death, I've seen it close up and personnel. I do not fear G-d, I haven't talked to him since 96 when the love of my life was murdered. What I do fear is the death of the most unique civilization the world has seen. Like the old Romans it may be thousands of years before another arrives to take our place and the interval will be filled with a dark age for all humanity.
