These last two articles linked to a chain of other articles, including one from The Atlantic which I found insightful, if for the reasons they did not intend.
Have women in the past been marginalized from participating in many jobs? Yes. Whether that is the fault of "sexism" or just a rational division of labor depends on the axe you have to grind. I think it's obvious there are elements of both.
What was so interesting about The Atlantic article that I ran across was its disingenuousness. Men aren't being discriminated against. It's just that without them being given special privileges, they are less-suited to a modern economy which does not require brawn but requires the more feminine traits.
So the article basically stereotypes men as incapable (or less capable) of service industries but, gosh, they are still well-suited to construction jobs. They are being stereotyped by the side who says stereotypes must be avoided at all costs (unless they are convenient, of course).
This leads to the problem of the LLF's: those men/boys who escape the female-dominated, man-hating feminist-infused culture and prefer porn, video games, and pot as a lifestyle while living in their parent's basement.
These are cast off (by all sides) as just lazy boys not willing to put in the work. In some cases this must surely be true. I'm guessing the reality is different for most. None of us has gone to school lately or had feminist culture (as it intersects developing yutes today) as a backdrop as boys try to navigate the excruciating difficult times of adolescence.
I think it's quite obvious that the steady drip, drip, drip of boy-hating (with girls held up as the right standards) takes its toll. Few may talk about it (just as few conservatives will dare express the centrality of feminism, either because they fear being ostracized or it's just so ingrained that they don't see it). But the results we can see: Men and boys are being marginalized by a culture that despises them. And if they react by basically saying "fuck it," you can hardly blame them.
As hard as I may be on these LLF's, they need us. They need our guidance. Most of all, they need to hear that it is not wrong to be a strong man with the traditional male virtues. And because those virtues have been marginalized, they revert to LLF's -- basically being boys forever with no sense of responsibility to anyone. And why not? Society is trying to make Elois of them.

No need to read this article about a movie you wouldn't want to see anyway. I'm just taking a bow for mentioning twenty years ago the absurd phenomenon of the ass-kicking female. No thanks are necessary.

I watched the trailer, ho hum, it is a female version of the Kingsmen. Lots of shooting and killing by women who seem to think they are spies. Don't get me wrong women can be very effective spies but they do not have the body strength for this kind of vigorous activity. More nonsense from a medium of entertainment that isn't.

The thing is these women are not really feminist. they are classic leftists first sex doesn't matter to the leftist philosophy. They forget that it was women's rights doesn't mean women superiority. A true feminist is confident in the differences between men and women, and understands that the differences are not to make one superior and the other subservient. A true feminist understands that under the law men and women are equal and will be treated equally but in life there is inequality. A matter of biology, intelligence, or strength. The same for men.

This is precious. Truly precious: Why Are Some Conservative Men Still Saying We Should Have Never Given Women the Right to Vote? One of the more profound comments to the article was: I think that comment avoids the central problem. This next comment does not: If women didn't vote, we'd have a different set of problems. But there's no doubt that women cause an enormous number of problems because of their sheer emotionalism and illogic. I mean, I'm glad this one commenter pointed out that line. When I read it I did a double-take. "Surely I must have misread that. It can't be pure nonsense." She wrote: Huh? Rush used to joke about the burden of being right all the time. I feel the same way. I would agree that it's unlikely that the vote will be taken away from women. But that they misuse their influence is without question. They are useful idiots for a movement (Communism) that would smother us.

I think I would rather have Camille Paglia on my side than this witch.

It's interesting that Paglia was able to draw a distinction between being lesbian and being (for all intents and purposes) a dupe for Communism. That's not her formulation. But I think that's how it plays out.
Although none of us are without an ingrained point-of-view through which we sift the facts, I give her credit for being the only intellectually honest lesbian that I've ever seen or read. She (like Bill Maher...who I don't consider particularly intellectually honest) will not bury her last vestige of objectivity in support of The Cause. She knows a bully when she sees one.
Generally speaking, unlike Maher, she has had the classic American attitude of not being afraid to have an opinion even if it flies in the face of convention (particularly including leftist conventions). She's on the left but not owned by them. Maher seems more of an opportunist. What will he be saying in 6 months?
The problem (to my mind) with people such as Maher is that they're very good at reflexively reacting to people who they consider enemies. That is, they define themselves more not by what they are for but what they are against. That he sees an enemy in the "woke" Nazis is to his credit. But not being grounded in anything deeper than that, his flip could tomorrow become yet another flop.
Critical Theory existed as a central element of Marxism long before the derivative term "Critical Race Theory." They are all about the acid drip, drip, drip of denigrating all aspects of a society until people lose confidence in their own selves and institutions. Maher just isn't smart enough or aware enough to know the game he's playing in. But I think to some extent Paglia is.

It took a while for the article to get to the meat:
In my 65 minute phone conversation with a church lady the other day, I made a rhetorical point that I neither liked Donald Trump nor Nancy Pelosi. Well, she tells me that perhaps I might soften my position on Pelosi because, after all, she did cancel a meeting (or something) because she came down with the Wuhan Flu.
Consider that for a moment. And know that I was talking to a woman who, for the most part, was disgusted with the current state of affairs. What is the highest form of virtue? Certainly not someone who is against abortion. It's someone who is wearing a mask.
I can't think like that. I can't think like a woman. I think David French can but I can't. I can't parse that illogic. Doesn't matter that Nancy Pelosi is a hardcore Leftist and promotes everything this Church Lady says she is against. What signaled to her most was that Pelosi was willing to "sacrifice" and call off a few meetings because she had the Wuhan Flu.
Again, this was not a hard-left Church Lady that I was talking to. But clearly, as a woman, she was completely lost in the quagmire of illogic and emotional isolation. And I would still consider her a very decent person after talking to her.
But should she vote? Probably not.

With a good deal of editing, this could be an excellent piece. As it is, the thing is too long and repetitive. That said, the writer does give some informative background info on the mentally ill source of Wokeness. Teenage female misfits The broad themes the author writes about have all been mentioned by us here. The information about Tumblr is new to me. I have to admit, I don't know exactly what Tumblr is, but I suppose it is something like Facebook.

It had me at the headline. It's also interesting how "transgenderism" could be seen as girls running away from the feminine and (for all intents and purposes) running toward the masculine (or toward some third-party imagined "thing"). But the bottom line is that feminism and this "woke" stuff is never about being comfortable in your own skin (or sex). It's about weaponizing grievance and instigating emotional charge. It's as if feminists and other "woke" types have made being a woman toxic. They've also made being a man toxic. I don't at all discount the EDATG angle (emotionally deranged agenda of teenage girls). But there's also an angle (how small, I don't know) where you could consider these EDATG's as being victims of abuse by the "woke" and by the feminist adults who are actively foisting this stuff on them. To some extent, they are made deranged by these exploitative adults. This is a very important point. And a point that predates it is an even more fundamental one, and one that will be highly offensive to most: All this "trauma" is a way for women (or girls) to get their way. If one has spent any amount of time with a 3-year-old (and I did on Easter), you'll understand that a girl's emotions are her natural battering ram or weapon. It can be used against other girls, of course, but these tools are extremely effective against males, especially today. What is "wokeness" but shutting men's opinions down about anything that is on the EDATG agenda? Women's emotions uber alles. I don't really understand the Tumblr angle either. I don't inhabit that cracked sphere of the internet. And I admit I don't see how any article that centers around what Andrew Sullivan thinks can possibly get at the truth. This author is indeed long-winded and has trouble getting to a clear point.

After reading this, I am more enlightened. Selfish but self unaware I love this particular part. So much dishonesty tied up in just a few sentences. Does anyone truly believe that a kid will understand that he or she is being neglected so that mom can be fulfilled in work and making the world a better place. Is this woman self-deluded or a liar putting herself before her children?

That's a nice story they are telling themselves. I would say it's likely untrue.
