We've had 90+ degree weather the past several days. Yesterday we found some relief when the high was only about 86. And it's funny, because when I walked out into that 86 last afternoon, it didn't seem warm at all. But 90+ temperatures really hit you like a heat wave.
There's nothing a Bremertonian can tell a Texan about hot weather. But today it will top out at about 83, and that's going to seem downright comfortable after living through the 90's.

I guess we have hit 100, or slightly above, 3 or 4 days this summer. Nothing special so far. Last week we had a couple of days where it didn't get out of the 80's, which is very unusual for north Texas in summer. I loved it.
Otherwise, we have had a bunch of days in the 90's, which is simply par for the course. 95 is not a hot day in July here in Texas. Mdm. Flu says she can tell when it is 100 or above as her skin starts to feel like it is burning.

I don't know where else to post this short video. It is very funny. I feel better after watching it. Of course, I like dogs and have followed horse racing since before the days of Secretariat. And they're off

It looks like they finally got to him. He will not run as president, yet will remain in office. This is scandalous on several levels. I will not run

I was just 30 seconds ago informed about this. Wow. What a development. I'm actually a little surprised.

I am mainly surprised that it has happened so soon. I had hoped for and was expecting something around the national convention, because there is no way Scraton Joe could be presented to the nation again.
I guess the threats were too great and the rewards lucrative enough to convince Jill and Hunter to guide O'Biden quietly off the stage.

A major motivating force appears to be the drying up of the money. I wonder if the floodgates will open for a Harris/Newsome ticket? I suppose some will be put in. But I imagine a lot of donors will be thinking about not throwing good money after the bad. We'll see.
One commenter at a Fox article says:
Yeah. That's sort of a natural question. And if it is Harris, she conveniently (for Republicans) inherents all of Biden's junk. If not Harris, then you have the problem of what politician, even on the left, wants to enter this clusterfuck and be tainted forever by it? Another commenter writes:
Well, one wonders if "the voters," at least on the Democrat side, could care thing-one about "the democratic process" as long as they choose someone who they think can beat Trump. Still, you never know what inconvenient riots could be added to those already expected at the DNC. Buy stock in popcorn, this is going to be good.

I doubt any serious contender wants to touch this with a barge pole. Things are looking so bad for the Demonrats that there is the possibility of a slaughter at the polls in November. Anyone connected to this slaughter will be dead politically after January 20, 2025. Who wants to be a sacrificial lamb for the Demonrats? Only someone as demented as O'Biden or someone who understands they have no chance in the first place and is looking for some financial reward for "taking one for the team."

While I hoped for a delegate fight at the Demonrat National Convention, I have to say that the article linked to below shows that they are now eating their own. Let's hope this goes on to and through the convention.
Demonrats, one-on-one

Ouch. Yes, no quick consensus. We need a "democratic process," as long as it's not Kamala. Go un-fuck yourself and vote Trump. How extraordinary that the VP is not automatically being rallied around. That would normally be the default position. It just shows you how much even they don't like Harris. That article is right to a certain extent. With B. Hussein Obama and Nancy Cuntlosi not endorsing Harris, it gives others cover. But I have half a mind to shout, "You go, girl. Don't let these white people or fake black people tell you what to do. Fight. Fight. Fight." I hope she finds her "voice," as they say, and just blisters these assholes. There's no way I would go quietly as the sitting VP when something like this goes down. And with Biden's endorsement, she is three-ways the legitimate heir. Don't let the establishment racists tell you what to do, Kamala. You let 'em have it.

Here We Go: Gavin Newsom Supporters Circulating Anti-Kamala Polling MemoI have to agree. However, there's something to consider. Newsom is nearing his shelf-life, even in liberal California. He needs to establish himself on the national scene if he wants to move forward. Being a loyal VP behind Kamala Harris might not be the dumpster-fire we assume. It would give him time to shine on the national stage (shining like Bozo the Clown's nose lighting up, but shining nevertheless). Plus, anyone who jumps in front of Kamala is going to leave a very bad taste in voter's mouths. As I said earlier, expect a Harris/Newsom ticket. Don't doubt me.

This is also my fervent prayer. I also pray that there are a number of other candidates who try to blister Kamala and their competitors in equal measure. If it comes to that, I can only say:
This is a wonderful rendition regardless what one thinks of the machinations of the Demonrats.

Yes, very nice. Interesting choice of purple for the uniforms. It's fine. I like it. Just seems a little unusual.

I also picked up on the purple. I would have thought black or deep maroon robes would have been more usual.

I guess those purple robes gave me visions of Robert Schuller...not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think that will be the predominant theme, no matter how hard B. Hussein Obama and Cuntlosi try to tell them all to start from scratch with no prior preference for Harris. Good luck. Do you prefer Jiffy Pop or Orville Redenbacher?

Aha! Told you so (not that you said otherwise...just sayin'): But wait…. Put real butter on your popcorn. Don't waste your time with margarine. That rumor sounds a bit phony. As the originating article stated, Newsom was campaigning hard for Biden. I can see him playing the loyal Dem and being her VP candidate. But dropping everything to forward Hillary's career? Oh, that's hard to believe. In fact, I laughed when I first read that. Waste your political career forwarding the career of that witch?
Trump beat her once. He would absolutely trounce her a second time around. And age isn't being particularly kind to Hillary.
