I read that piece yesterday on another site. While the article sets forth much of what is wrong with our university system, I don's see anything that is new. If I recall correctly, there were a couple of good contributors on ST, early on, who delved pretty deeply into the problem. That said, things have to be repeated and put into context as regards recent events, so it is good someone like Hanson can put the problem into a short, clear piece in order to remind us of the problem. Of course, as hard as it is to believe, there are no doubt still some who don't even know the problem exists. For such, the good prof's article is just that much more important.
