There's a large wing of the Republican Party who I have termed "Respectability Republicans" or "Demeanor Republicans." This is not to be confused with a Country Club Republican, although the overlap is obvious.
A Respectability (or Demeanor) Republican has a moral compass thoroughly in tune with popular culture. He or she is not anchored to timeless truths or sound principles. He bends with the wind and holds whatever opinions will get him back-slapping accolades by following the crowd . . . all while attempting to put a "man of integrity" gloss over his obsequiousness. We've seen the almost maddening results of the pretzel-logic rationalizations forwarded by the usual Frenchian pundits in the media who are of this type.
These are the same types who disliked Reagan. Saying anything outlandish or that hurts the feelings of the mainstream media (or, more importantly, the wives of these "Respectability Republicans") is considered ungentlemanly, at best, and more likely paints one as a political barbarian (and anti-woman, and anti-black, and anti-immigrant, and anti-poor, and anti-saving-the-planet, and just not the kind of fellow that decent people should associate with).
These people of supposed "Respectability" are the same people we would call "Cocktail Party" Republicans or conservatives. They are not beholden to fundamental American or biblical principles. They are beholden to the kudos, likes, and back-slaps of the cocktail party crowd. And this crowd thinks of themselves as entirely "Progressives," open, tolerant, etc. Anyone who says "No" to any notion of this crowd is, again, considered a political barbarian.
Of course, Trump takes this whole dynamic that is already in play and injects his 220 volts of brazen personality into the mix. He is a godsend to the Respectability people of all types (including probably 90% of Catholics) because they never need to examine their own prejudices, vices, and errors. They need only know that they are on the side of angels because they are against Trump.
And, again, Trump makes it extremely easy for this dynamic to happen and to be extended. It also makes it easy for the Always-Trump people to overlook the many obviously problems of Trump and just write off any criticism as stemming from a "Never-Trumper."
We have what we have on both sides. And I don't see any way of putting lipstick on either pig.

This is just one of many such Repukelicans. One might argue that not everyone in Congress is corrupt, but there is no denying that so many are corrupt that the entire institution is a criminal racket run for a small group of special interests with no genuine concern for what voters think or want. How much money has this grifter put in his pocket while in politics?

I see the large number of Repukelicans voting with the Demonrats and can't detect a gnats hair of difference between them on many policies That is because it is the uniparty, there is no difference between them. They are the usual selection of grifters, and criminals that have always found their way into politics. It is just that there are more of them now then there used to be.

With a judge coming out and basically saying that he declined to prosecute Biden because he's a senile old man, the door has opened for Trump a little bit. I think it's still an uphill battle for him. But the stay-at-home aspect of Biden voters could be the deciding factor. It may not be that Trump has gained advocates but that Biden fatigue becomes worse than Trump fatigue. As for the classified documents kerfuffle, it appears Biden did far worse than anything Trump did. But then I don't think voters really care all that much, if only because deviancy of the law has been defined down so much over the years. Still, it tends to remove it as an issue against Trump.

It has long been known that Biden is a crook. I heard about it in the 1980s. Even then he was known to be in the pocket of the credit card companies in a big way.
Only the willfully blind could not know by now that Biden is probably (certainly) the most corrupt "president" in American history. Worse still, a big part of his corruption has been selling his influence to foreign governments. Talk about a Manchurian Candidate.

Well, I won't argue against any of that. But the fact is (on both sides), people don't seem to care about personal character (or lack of) issues. It's all about what they represent (at least in their own minds).
But I do think Trump has a renewed chance because I think more than a few Biden voters will just stay home and say "to heck with it."

For those idiots who have claimed that there is no collusion/conspiracy by the Biden Administration (and others) in the numerous phony prosecutions of Trump, the following information is simply further confirmation that our country is in the hands of criminal forces. I don't need forensic evidence to know a scam when I see one. Trust Me. Would I Lie To You?

Yesterday's court ruling that Trump owes US$460 million for fraud, which he did not commit, is nothing less than a death knell for the the prosperity of NYC. It is also proof of the fact that this country is being run by criminal tyrants who will stop at nothing to impose their will on the rest of us. The numerous prosecutions taking place against Trump remind of nothing so much as the Moscow Show Trials of the 1930s. If this finding is left to stand, the USA is finished. New York City and State have already been given a mortal blow to their prosperity. But even if it is overturned, this has done immeasurable damage to both the city and state. Don't believe me? I have already received communications from overseas expressing complete disbelief that such a thing could happen in the USA. That this finding will kill the finance sector in NYC. Nobody overseas will trust the USA system. One already sees the decline of NYC as the world's greatest financial market. This will only speed up its fall. On the one hand, I am convinced that the leftists who rule us want to bring down the USA. On the other hand, Trump derangement syndrome has driven many others truly insane. They are unable to see past the fog which has enveloped and taken over their brains. Fentanyl is a weak drug by comparison. The combination is crashing the USA. This piece by prof. Turley gets to the heart of the matter. Obscene Award

I can't argue with that.
New York is being run by zealous nuts. One of the YouTubers I follow has chronicled his problems dealing with the insane and corrupt government of New York City. His solution was to move to Texas.
New York may have started its own death spiral.
Hopefully in an appeal, sanity will be restored.

There you have from the mouth of "Mr. Wonderful" a Canadian investor, confirmation of what I previously said. It is good for big names to push this truth forward.
We need to make sure that the rest of the country doesn't end up supporting the scum in NYC. New Yorkers should stay in NY and fix their own problems. Don't come to Texas.

If this is correct, it is a major change in the Jewish vote. To the best of my recollection, every Jew that I worked with in NYC was a Demonrat. In fact, even those in Texas, with one or two exceptions, were Demonrats.

As objections go, this is pretty thin gruel. But at least Jeb Bush has put his name to an article which condemns the outrageous lawfare being waged against Trump and Musk. Perhaps he is sincere. Perhaps he believes this will get him in Trump's good books or improve his image among people such as myself. Since I doubt the latter will happen, I hope the former is his reason for the article. Outrageous legal decisions

Whatever one thinks of the Bushes, his daddy wasn't an idiot, and he certainly wasn't anti-American. I'm going to assume good motives for Jeb. I seriously doubt that he'd want to be part of a Trump administration.

Now that Trump has taken over the RNC, that organization is doing something to stop the crooked elections which have been increasingly common in the USA. What has the RNC been doing over that last few years except spending big money on its members and officers and blocking MAGA? I understand that over 60 people have been fired from the RNC in the last few days. Great. Keep it up. RNC suing criminal Michigan Sec. of State Anyone with an IQ above room temperature understands that accurate voter rolls are very important in keeping elections clean. Grossly overstated voter rolls, combined with mail-in ballots, allow the Demonrats to steal elections. To give readers an idea of how dishonest our MSM is, one must only note the following paragraphs from the linked-to article. America’s voter roll system is built for registration, not removal. The rolls often include outdated registration as most voters do not remove themselves from the system when they move.
And while federal law requires officials take steps to keep the rolls up-to-date, it also protects voters from overzealous purges by requiring that officials wait years to remove a voter who has simply stopped casting a ballot.
Still, there’s no evidence that bloated voter rolls lead to voter fraud, even as Republicans increasingly seize on the rolls as a focus of their election activism. That's like saying, "there is no evidence that bloated waist-lines lead to heart disease." Or, "there is no evidence that alcohol abuse leads to spouse abuse." Or, "there is no evidence that leaving packages on front door steps leads to increased thievery." I could go on and on. There is no evidence that believing the MSM causes a decrease in IQ.

Prof. Turley understands things. Doing great damage to New York Of course, the fact that these trials are damaging New York means little to the criminal prosecutors behind them. They either want to damage the country, or they don't give a damn. One could maintain that they are too stupid to understand what they are doing, but they certainly have advisors who tell them the likely consequences of their actions. Who knows, maybe they are even being paid, or promised future employment, for their actions.
