This is technically straight news, but most appropriately placed here. She Guevara in her usual goofy way mocked the idea of "lifting yourself up by your bootstraps" as a metaphor for rising on your efforts because it's literally impossible. (Ironically, the article notes, she herself can be considered an example of what she says is impossible.) This led to a number of people having fun pointing out other metaphors that make no literal sense. (For example, to use one that Andy Fox enjoyed, the main character in Titanic never actually flew anywhere.) The link is:
There was another version at Town Hall. In both cases the responses include a lot of funny ones. So:

I've compared the Demagogue candidates who debated this past Friday to the Seven Dwarfs, and a posting today inspired me to try naming them all. The names won't quite much the originals, but never mind.
Yellow Jester Biden is obviously Gropey -- even more appropriate than Sleepy, I think. Bolshie Bernie Scamders is Grouchy (Grumpy is too mild). Blonde Squaw Warren is Doc, if only by virtue of her long-time pretense of being an American Indian. Pete Battygeek is Dopey, although most Demagogue voters so far aren't paying enough attention to realize that yet.
Amy Koldbutcher is Bashful, since she's the only one hesitant to support a socialist (though only because of the likely outcome in November). Tom Steyer is Impeachy, since it apparently hasn't dawned on him that if he did in fact win Trump would be gone anyway. Finally, Yang the Nauseous is Sappy, although that might have been even more appropriate of Marianne Williamson before she dropped out.

Town Hall has a nice cartoon aptly describing the relationship between the Black God and the Yellow Jester in a way very appropriate for Oscar night. The link is:

Michael Doomberg is running into a problem. Just when he was starting to draw the black vote away from the Yellow Jester, someone started to run videos of Doomberg's defenses of stop-and-frisk, committing the ultimate crime for a leftist: he told a politically inconvenient truth. Ed Morrissey has an article on the subject on Hot Air which includes a humorous look at who might be putting out these videos. The link is:

One clever commenter wrote:
I agree with Bloomberg. He ought to stick by his guns and simply explain the situation instead of apologizing.
The straightforward answer was supplied by another commenter:
Trump is president in large part for not playing the belly-roll game in face of criticism. Don’t apologize. Go on the attack.

Babylon Bee reports on a new toy by the people who did "Tickle Me Elmo". "Tickle You Joe" mimics the behavior of the Yellow Jester. KFZ should especially appreciate the reference to a horny toad. (Technically it's a horned toad, but we always called it a horny toad back when I was in Galveston. It's also actually a lizard, not a toad.) The link is:

I don't know if it is still the case, but in my day, all school children in Texas learned about and were proud of the Texas Horny Toad.

Babylon Bee has a number of nice parodies today. One deals with the shocking discovery that closing down all non-essential jobs took out Congress, which definitely qualifies as non-essential. They also report that Joel Osteen (infamous for the prosperity gospel) has proudly announced that he tested negative for Biblical (i.e., authentic) Christianity.
It also seems that a New York Times newsliar, forced to stay at home because of quarantining, drove his family crazy by accusing them of racing for such things as wanting to play Chinese checkers or ordering Mexican food for delivery. And Planned Parenthood has adapted to Wuhan fever by setting up drive-through (or should that be drive-by?) abortions.
I can only do one link, so all I can do is give general one:

Babylon Bee had at least 3 especially good parodies in today's update. The best involved the MaligNancy from Scat Francisco speaking (in a fashion reminiscent of updates on Wuhan fever) of the virus that she really dreads, the Bad Orange Man, and how to deal with the threat of him winning this year. Babylon Bee had a very good day. They had a parody of Baptist dancing that I sent to Elizabeth's siblings and a Narnia parody I sent to some friends I thought would be interested. And they had a parody of the extreme hoplophobia that afflicts Britain and too many in America. The link to the latter is:

This is the funniest political cartoon I have seen in some time. Look very closely at the items behind the Obamanation. They tell his life story. All the photos are of him. All the books are about him. There is the hammer in the upper left-hand shelf and sickle to the left of his shoulder. In the middle shelf on the left is a bust of Lenin. I believe that is a container of peanuts behind him on the left middle shelf. The other item on the shelf looks like a miniature oil barrel. Obama

That's a good one. It wasn't big enough for me to notice all those details when I saw the cartoon previously (I check Ramirez out every day at gocomics.con).
Another humorous delight involves the Yellow Jester's campaign. He set up a place on his website where supporters could announce their support. Needless to say, it's also a place where conservative pranksters could have some fun, such as showing Ayatollah Khamenei as a supporter (he needs some more pallets of cash). The link is:

I actually like both songs, though the Byrds' "Eight Miles High" might be better (it's also referenced in Don McLean's "American Pie"). But Petula Clark did a nice version of "San Francisco" on her These Are My Songs album. Can that be added into the mix?

I definitely don’t want to be going to San Francisco, because…
There once was a street corner bum Who was not entirely dumb Shared his house with the fleas But paid no real estate fees And to San Fran he never would come
