Kagan: That's true, but it is primarily due to fuzzy diagnostic practices. Let's go back 50 years. We have a 7-year-old child who is bored in school and disrupts classes. Back then, he was called lazy. Today, he is said to suffer from ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). That's why the numbers have soared.
I don't refute any of that. There is a War on Boys...as well as a war on men. I accept the above without equivocation or amendment. ADHD is an invention by women (primarily) because they don't know how real boys act and/or they care to try to judge them only through the filter of girls/women as the model of normal.
Pause there, because this is extremely serious.
That said, we are cracking up mentally as a culture quite over and beyond the made-up mental problems. Understand that I don't mean that in the way the Left uses it as in "Disagreeing with me is evidence that you are insane." I mean real mental instability or distress.
I think we've probably all been through periods when we weren't at the top of our game, when stress, loss, pain, or confusion took us down a mental cul-de-sac. There's a reason they say "Time heals all wounds," because it is generally so. If we are simply left alone, we will find the straight-and-sane again.
My younger brother told me tonight about a sweet kid that his son knew in school. This kid had come out as "transgender" and later committed suicide. My brother also knew the kid and said he seemed like a really nice kid.
Consider where you might have wound up if, in one of your vulnerable times of life, someone had pushed you further toward mental anguish or instability. Because we are still kicking and have survived past the age of 60, it's very unlikely that we would have succumbed to such malevolence. But do we really know for sure?
There is not a place warm enough in hell for the people who are pushing mixed-up kids (mixed up in the first place largely due to Leftism) into answers that mix them up even more. Kids inherently need guidance as they walk through the minefield of puberty. What they don't need is for quacks to push them into destructive behaviors based on the most corrupt of pseudo-scientific malarkey. And that's what is happening to many kids. The adults are betraying them and downright sacrificing them to screwball thoeries.
I went to a friend/client's art show tonight. Bremerton has a little-artsy fartsy downtown section now. And, yes, there were a couple odds ducks at this show. One was this otherwise beautiful 17-year-old girl who had three layers of goth on and resembled death far more than she did the flower of womanhood. There was another kid there, perhaps about 16, who seemed to have a screw loose.
But nothing else was overtly strange. No grand happenings. I didn't get into any kind of shouting match with a libtard, for instance. But it struck me (and not for the first time) what a false and artificial landscape libtardville is. Everyone seems to be pretending at happy even while scared to death of saying the wrong thing.
I talked to one artist there who said "I think such-and-such is an example of a moral influence in the painting. Oh, I'm sorry to have used that word." Huh? What? I told him we need more authentic morals, not less talk about them.
But even that anecdote didn't set off my Super Spidy Senses. It just all comes together (in a rare moment in public for me in a social setting) how Progressivism/Leftism is a constant force that nudges people to be mentally anguished, confused, or unstable. If you could design a counter-therapy whose purpose was to make people unwell, Progressivism/Leftism is that.
It's probably supposed that most people will just reach a good mental place if left to their own devices. To some degree this is true. But I believe just as Dennis Prager does: People may be born innocent, but they must be made good.
And I extend this to "People may not be born crazy, but they need a constant intake of sanity in order to remain mentally well." Most people, I would say. Not all people. I really, honest to god, don't think people know how effed up they are. As I've said before, I very much feel like Donald Sutherland in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers." I can have no particular deep affection for strangers because inside of them might lie this horrible thing. They may no longer be fully human.
This aspect of the need for positive moral and mental forces in our lives relates to religion and one of its main functions. But we've shit on that in many places and turned it into yet another force for craziness.
That's why I write here. It does help me with a sense of normalcy, because you're sure as hell not going to find that on "social media" and you might be hard-pressed these days to find it in the real world.
