Yes, very nice. I haven’t yet found that piece on Apple Music but it does have some other stuff by him. I’ll delve into it. — Yes, I did find it. It’s on an album called Essential Delius: 150th Anniversary.

Today’s artist is Johann Baptist Vanhal. (No relation to this guy.) I’m listening to this album which features music from VanHal (not this song though), Franz Krommer, and Johann Christian Bach. The Vanhal stuff is his Snfonie in G Minor — the first four tracks on the album. I found it quite listenable. I’m onto the Krommer portion of the album. The following was from Vanhal’s blue period. I could be mistaken about that.

They don't have that particular compilation album on Apple Music. But they have a whole bunch of albums with music he's conducted. I'll start with his Beethoven's Fifth.
---
Oops. All they had was the one movement of the Fifth. I'll try his presentation of Anton Bruckner's symphony no. 4.

Now we know why Beethoven was forbidden in the Communist Wonworld that prevails at the beginning of Henry Hazlitt's brilliant The Great Idea aka Time Will Run Back.

Okay. I’ll queue up Beethoven’s Fifth in its entirety. Who would have thought listening to classical music was an act of defiance? And yet the Communists have always tried to outlaw everything worth living for.
