Thank God for Rand Paul. Paul Blocks $40 Billion Bill This bill is a complete boondoggle. Anything Schumer and McConnell agree on is sure to steal money from American citizens. I suggest anyone who disagrees read H.R. 7081. There are absolutely no controls, spending instructions, suggested budgets, names of people or institutions to whom funds are to be paid, or purposes for which the money is to be used. Let's see, give a $40 billion slush fund to the government of the third most corrupt country in the world, which has criminal ties to the Biden family as well as others such as Kerry and Pelosi. What could possibly go wrong? There is one clause in which the authors of the Bill get specific. It is clause (d) under Section 2. To wit: (d) Multilateral Financial Support for Refugees
The Secretary of the Treasury shall direct the United States Executive Director at each international financial institution (as defined in section 1701(c) (2) of the International Financial Institutions Act) to use the voice and vote of the United States to seek to provide economic support for refugees from Ukraine, including refugees of African descent, and for countries receiving refugees from Ukraine. What the hell? How many Ukrainians are "of African descent?" Why is this in the bill? Can anyone say, "let's bring in a lot of Africans who are studying in the Ukraine" and that way kill two birds with one stone? Why can't these people return to their countries.

An example of the type of shit that could go wrong, as there is no doubt that much of that $40 billion will find its way back to the pockets of the military-industrial-intelligence-foreign-policy-financial complex for "weapons" that almost work. Our military at work

The Democrat Party is incapable of passing a spending bill that isn't corrupt. An article by Brodigan says something reasonable:

Again, thank God for Rand Paul. Whatever one believes about aid to the Ukraine, controls must be imposed. Otherwise, the criminals in D.C. and their junior partners in Kiev will steal billions more than they normally do.
People must remember that we have lost more rights and wasted more money in times of war than any other period. This goes for virtually all wars.

This is a good indication that Russia is actually winning the war in Ukraine. Western Europe is financing the war and if they still thought that they could squeeze Russia anytime soon, they wouldn't pay in rubles as demanded by Putin. Of course, the fact that Europe can not function without Russian energy resources should have been a pretty good indication that Europe would suffer more than Russia from sanctions. But Europe, even more than the U.S., is being run by idiotic ideologues who have little idea as to how the world actual works. 20 European Companies To Buy Energy In Rubles

Here is an excellent piece which goes a little way to explaining just how the world works as regards energy. Multiply this complexity many times to include things other than energy, but energy is the foundation of our civilization. If our betters i.e. those in governments, think tanks, the media, etc. don't understand this basic information, we truly are lost. Again, I am inclined to believe that the top understands this information very well. They just don't care and want to bring the house tumbling down. But it could be just arrogance magnified by stupidity . Getting energy wrong I love the opening line. “We live in a time where few understand how things get made. It is fine to not know where stuff comes from, but it isn’t fine to not know where stuff comes from while dictating to the rest of us how the economy should be run."

Childish thinking which displays the low level at which our elites are operating. How can anybody expect to win a war with such simpletons running things? At least come up with some higher-level propaganda. Russians send "chilling" messages on bombs From the Daily Mail article, one would think this was something new, unusual and inordinately cruel, but the facts say otherwise. Here are a few examples from US wars.

But it could be just arrogance magnified by stupidity Never under estimate the power of stupidity. Arrogance has a fellow traveler, condescending attitude. Often stupidity masks the other but almost aliases they travel together. The Greeks had a really good word for it Hubris. Hubris was always followed by her sister Nemesis but not before Hubris had done the maximum damage.

I think there is a good chance that neither Finland nor Sweden will join NATO. All members of NATO have to agree to any new member and there are several members which don't like the idea.

It seems that even some of those who we thought had a firm grasp on reality, in fact, live in virtual reality like today's yutes. Get your eyes checked general Frankly, this is worrying.

Frankly, this is worrying. It is not just worrying, but dangerous when leaders cannot distinguish between fake and real war. However, for over a generation we have been turning real war into a video game. It should come as no surprise that senior staff have followed the trend. I wonder, will it be necessary for warriors to carry swords and actually duel with opponents to break us out of the sad system we now use. There is value in simulation but nothing replaces the lessons learned in real combat. Mistakes can be made in a game, no one dies and everyone goes home in one piece. Real war is an anvil that offers no second chances, no do overs, and your friends do die. When war becomes automated it becomes impersonal and numbers become meaningless. This trend started with Vietnam and has gotten more and more complex. Will our leaders be capable of distinguishing between video and real when Skynet takes over?

Azovstal "evacuated" EvacuatedThe above nonsense has been spread across the whole of Western media. These people were not evacuated, they were broken and surrendered. Such articles are simply more lies and/or dwelling in Never-Never-Land by the West. Some semblance of reality is needed to run a war.

From the beginning, I have maintained that the Ukraine has never had a chance, but let's say it did. That chance evaporated from the moment the West's sanctions on Russia's Central Bank, theft of its foreign reserves overseas and decoupling from SWIFT failed to bring Russia to its knees. The West was shocked, shocked I say.
NATO i.e. the USA and the EU have had eight years to prepare for this. They have been training the Ukrainian Army since 2014. The Ukraine has the largest army in Europe that is not Russian. Yet the idiots don't have the brains to prepare properly for what they knew was coming.
What type of idiots don't understand:
that the world, and particularly Europe, depend on Russian gas and oil and these cannot be replaced quickly, if at all?
What type of idiots don't understand:
that Russia and Belarus are responsible for something like 40% of world fertilizer exports?
What type of fools don't understand:
that Russia and the Ukraine together are responsible for something over 30% of the world's grain exports.
What kind of dolts don't understand:
that Russia is largely self-sufficient in basic commodities and can forego imports of Mercedes, Ferraris, Rolex watches and such?
Yet, Europe and the USA cannot forego Russian energy. Have a look at the numbers re Russian oil sold to the USA since the war started. The same goes for gas and oil to Europe.
What type of idiots don't understand:
these points and more, and prepare for them?
I can tell you what type of idiots. The type that are running our government, particularly the state department and CIA.
The damage resulting from this war is enormous. Europe is killing itself. Splits in both NATO, and particularly, the EU are becoming more apparent. Inflation is raging. Millions of Ukrainian "refugees" are flooding into the West and many of these are not very desirable. Yet European countries must pay for them.
As to the Ukrainian government, it is as if the cast and crew of "The West Wing" was installed into actual power. Everything they do or say is like a TV production. (The milieu from which they came.) It is make believe, but the results of their idiocy/criminality are anything but. They go around insulting every country in the world, demanding more, more, more. At the same time, black markets for all those weapons flowing into the Ukraine have sprung up. Zelensky is a dope-addled dick with a Napoleonic complex surrounded by some very nasty people. But he is still able to sober up long enough to continue playing the role of a lifetime. God save the poor soldiers, particularly the Territorial Militias, being ground up by the Russian war machine.
Do I sound pissed off? You bet I am. What is happening is a clusterfuck of almost unheard of proportions. (sorry, I have never used that word before, but it describes what is happening.)
As I said from the beginning, this is not our fight and we should stay out of it. But if you are going to fight someone, at least do it correctly.
Our performance in this affair has me very concerned about how we would be able to act in the South China Sea, which is very important to us and our actual allies.

In order to relieve some of the pressure on prices due to Europe talking about stopping Russian oil imports, the Biden Administration is apparently dropping sanctions against Venezuela and pushing for exports of Venezuelan oil to Europe. Venezuelan Crude to Europe The problem is that much of Venezuelan oil is controlled by ?? Russia. Russian government controls Venezuelan oil I have known about the Russians controlling Venezuelan crude for several years now. I got the info from friends in the industry. If I know about it, does anyone believe our State Dept. doesn't? More proof that all these recent sanctions, discussion of sanctions, etc. are just Wayang i.e. a puppet show for the gullible public.

Russia starts to give the USA a taste its own medicine. It was only to be expected after NATO i.e. the USA went all in on the Ukraine/Russia war. Nicaragua to allow Russian Soldiers and Ships Visit Nicaragua is much more important to America's security than the Ukraine, if only for the fact that we have an enormous problem at the southern border. How many Nicaraguans are crossing over? How many terrorists will be dropped off in Nicaragua and will then make their way to el Norte? No doubt, there will be more such agreements in the near future.

Russia continues to prove out Reagan's evaluation of them: The Evil Empire. This is simply more evidence of the need to combat the Russians. A New Cold War has emerged. It's time to choose sides. I certainly don't take the side of one of the most evil men of our day, Putin.
